They will likely buyout Ryan Anderson. But they have to lock up Capela and Paul... It’s a big three in Harden, Paul, and Capela; you can’t give up on that tandem....

He wouldn't be able to shiny this brightly. Your point about his FT is well taken, but he isn't a scorer. Harden, Chris and EG have to get to the line. Clint has shown that he can establish himself nicely on defense. The only player that Clint has struggled consistently against is Steven Adams. If he can overcome his difficulties against him, he will be completely set on defense against any 5.

Dream is travelling with the team? That's freaking awesome.

And everyone screaming in Clint's face at the final buzzer... Even more awesome.

I remember before the series Gobert talking about how it's crazy to see (paraphrasing) little Clint grow up coming out of a lower tier team in Europe. I remember reading that and thinking it was somewhat patronizing.

This was a public execution. Gobert will drop a tier in everyone's eyes after this series. But if he works hard and has a Capelaesque summer, maybe he can rejoin the major league next season.

A buyout would still trigger $41M in Rockets liability - albeit with $8M per year for the next FIVE years. While that would free up $12M in cap room for the next two seasons, we'd lose $8M per year of cap space for the next 3 beyond that. I suspect Morey will have to bite that bullet...or find a team that is well below the cap that he can give up Ryno + other assets (first round pick). This may resemble the Texans dumping Osweiler on the Browns, and losing draft picks in the process. I hope I'm wrong, but I see no other way forward.

Clint "Oh I Like That" Capela. So we still wanting DeAndre Jordan around here on the cheap? Na, didn't think so. Go ROX!
