For our sake of resigning him, I hope his name isn't even brought up. After he's locked up then sure...
Clint might have a shot at the All-Defensive second team. I'd vote for him as MIP, but like all these awards, the competition is tough (and I'm prejudiced). What has me excited isn't possible awards for the guy, but that Capela made a big jump in his development. If he plays really well in the playoffs and, with luck, we make the Finals, beating GS in the process, his awards will come. There's a lot of improvement left for Clint, in my opinion. He made a major leap this year, fits perfectly in our system, and the kid is still only, what, 23? That's crazy.
Every person in this thread lol. You said if the rockets win this year does he have a chance next year. Reading comprehension people.
Have you seen Bullard interview Capela after a good game? He's more 6'11 - 7'0 range based on shoulder and eye level height comparisons.
I can live with him getting it if only because it'll further delegitimize Westbrook's MVP award from last year. It would be even sweeter if the Thunder were to miss the playoffs.
Think Clint has grown up tremendously...but he is absolutely terrible in his post defense. OK in team defense...One on one, he gets worked...
There aren't too many shut down post guys anymore. Guards and mobile big men should dominate the award going forward until there's another paradigm shift.
Yea you're probably right with VO, Four years in and he had been incredibly under-whelming for a #2 over all pick so ironically that weighs in his favor for MIP. Also a good look into how much of a black hole Westbrick is.
