These are just the first three paragraphs from a NYTimes article about climate change(?) - which have nothing to do with climate change. Hope you all enjoyed your rape, torture, and murder on your way to work this morning.

You grossly misread it. That wasn't the comparison.

This is an interesting demonstration, however, of how people will read what they want to read when driven by ideology rather than truth-seeking.

And by this, you meant to say that it's an opinion by a Yale historian about historical causes of genocide and war, one of which is/was competition over arable land.

This is hardly a novel or revolutionary theory. Also not novel - the fact that you failed so hard at reading it, and had to run to the interwebs to emote about it.

Yeah, please explain to me how dropping off the kids at day at is comparable to to the rape, torture, and murder of millions of people.

You have serious reading comprehension problems or serious clickbait titles talent and should work for TMZ.

However this article is crap. When you try to tie an article about the environment to the "imminent destruction of the EU" then you are the one who does what accuses others of doing- spreading panic and being a demagogue.

    Especially this
    and this
are extremely far fetched ridiculous sentences that made me shake my head.
All in all this article is crap and so is your thread title.

Yes. Reading comprehension problem. You actually highlighted yourself the part that proves you wrong. The comparison is the dire consequenses of environmental panic NOT the German crimes themselves. In fact the article provides other historical paradigms like Rwanda and Darfur where environmental disasters caused panic and in the end civil wars and genocides.
Try rereading the article and if you can't comprehend what everyone here is saying perhaps you should go back to high school.

True, basically it's more of a cognitive bias problem; you're a random crackpot, so you assemble a goofy narrative to fit random crackpot views.

Therefore you see an article making the unremarkable thesis that competition for resources leads to conflict and you go crazy because it pushes a few buttons of yours.

    Fun monday AM for you.

Maybe it boggles your mind what this guy is writing but read the article:

I see quite clearly what the author is saying and trying to say.

And which crackpot theory would this be? That the drought in Cali is natural? Turns out the NOAA has published at least two research articles stating that the drought is natural.

I suggest you find new strawmen.

    No you don't.
But from what I can see now you are an agenda driven person. It's sad when anyone lets an agenda blind them to basic everyday tasks like comprehending what they are reading.
Many of the causal elements that lead to the rise of nazistic Germany have assimiliated and environmental panic is just one of them. That doesn't mean some kind of nazistic regime will appear. It means that we could have war though.
Please educate yourself. Try reading history.

Again, you clearly did not read the article:

His underlying theme is that climate change will turn us (or China) into Nazis.
    Right.

The title of the Article is The Next Genocide. I am pretty certain you missed his entire point.

I guess history is as worthless to understand as science, eh Rojo?
