Yeah, because that policy worked so well in Miami that LeBron felt the need to abandon ship because of the rosters bleak long term outlook. It seems to me that GM LeBron makes so many shortsighted signings and trades that the roster ends up so bad that player LeBron has to leave and find another host planet.
This is probably what went down. Morey called Denver and inquired about Mozov who is in the last year of his contract. He offered Papa, Canaan and the Knicks second. The Cavs wanted him and said wait, we are completing a trade to get some picks so they did. Morey upped it to Papa and the NO 1st. They opted to go with the two first round picks and send Mozgov to the EC. Stupid OKC and NY willingly gave up those mediocre picks to get back at Morey.
If JR Smith opts out then the Cavs made out like bandits. Waiters turns into Shumpert, Mozgov, and Smith. Still not sure how they get 2 picks in that trade as well. Something smells fishy.
A lot of ifs but if Cleveland has let's say a 1st or 2nd round exit in the playoffs and Lebron and Love leave in the off season what does their future look like? Seems like they're reading word for word in the Nba dictionary of the word "All-in".
Not interested. He's due $37 million over the next 3 years, and his shooting percentages have fallen every year since his rookie season. I'd offer them Terry, Papanikolaou, NYK 2nd, and the DEN/MIN 2nd. Nothing more.
On a side note : Glen Rice Jr also waived by the Wizzards. Any chance he will clear the waiver and Rockets sign him to the Vipers? I doubt it though.
PG: Irving, Dellavedova SG: Shumpert, Smith SF: James, Miller PF: Love, Marion C : Mozgof, Thompson Man I don't know, their big 3 is amazing, but everybody else just seems out of place. Mozgof and Shumpert would be very good backups but neither are starter material. Thompson needs to be moved to the PF position. Dellavedova isn't a rotation player. Miller and Marion are all too washed up. Smith has been a mess on a expensive contract. Top it all off they extended Varejao who is super injury prone to a big contract. I'm sure the team will make due with what they have and win anyways but they really should fix the roster to maximize that teams potential.
This is probably more a function of increased responsibility. He's getting to the line more. His TS% is .554 up from .523 his rookie season (and .584 last season when he mostly came off the bench). He has gotten better offensively over the years and is a respectable finisher. That said, we ain't gonna beat Cleveland's offer on this.
What do Mozgof's advanced numbers look like? How comparable is he too Asik when we first acquired him?
Is it me or is Waiters really overrated? He gets talked about a lot more than he deserves. Even more than the other scrub that got picked 1st by Cleveland and he was a 4th pick. http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/6628/dion-waiters He is shooting 40% on the season and 25% from 3. Shumpert is shooting 41% and 35% from 3. If I am NY, I would not trade him straight up for Waiters. I guess they must have REALLY wanted to get rid of JR Smith, but there is a good chance that dude is dumb enough to opt out of his deal if you just play him and let him chuck his way to a nice draft pick for the Knicks. That Grizz pick could turn out to be a shocker if Gasol gets hurt again next season and Randolph quits.
Haha, you never know though. Let him chuck his way to 15 points a night and he might be stupid enough to opt out.
He cost more than 10 mils per. If we trade for him, that means we will say bye bye next year to Bev, and also to both Dmo and TJ most likely, and also cut half of our bench depth at least.
Think about James Johnson. Its all about second chance. He shrined at the Vipers before and this is the good place for him to get a second chance.
Cleveland may have traded away their 1sts, but they still have that Brendan Haywood huge non-guaranteed contract that they can utilize.
That's exactly the reason the Cavs trying everything to hang on to that Grizz pick. Its heavily protected the next 2 years and then only top 5 protected after that, no teams can be 100% sure what will happen to them 2 years from now. This pick is good.
7-1, he is averaging 8 rebounds in 26 minutes and 50.4% from the field. Shoots 73.3% from the line so if the other team goes to hack a Dwight and Dwight is not making it then you have someone to replace him and stop that strategy. He gets 1.2 blocks and changes some shots. He would average a double double if he was a starter. He has a high basketball IQ. Let's hope Cleveland can't re-sign him, but he stays in the east. Part of me wants to see Cleveland fail. How interesting would the off-season be if LeBron and Love opt out and all of the NBA's efforts to bring LeBron back to Cleveland failed? Cleveland just sucks at drafting and trading, but this was a good one for them as long as they keep JR Smith in check which should be no problem because everyone listens to LeBron.
