misleading. but he still hasn't made an announcement. I'm almost certain he's staying with Miami and just dragging the rest of the NBA along for fun. I'm sure that's theres some strategy involved because Lebron knows scenarios like the ones with the Rockets are going to play out across the league. By taking his time, it's weakening a potential threat to contend.
This latest ploy by LeBron is absurd. The idea that the "letter" suddenly became an issue again in the 11th hour is beyond ridiculous. If it mattered that much to him, it's hard to imagine the process getting as far as it did with Cleveland. What seems most plausible here: he simply got cold feet at the last minute because of his comfort level with Dwyane Wade and Pat Riley. And that's fine, it's certainly his prerogative as a free agent. Just own up to it, instead of leaking this BS story as cover fire against the people from Ohio.

Not Broussard. He and Rich Paul are as close as it gets. If Broussard says something, it's because Rich Paul fed him that directly.
Broussard might be really close but still no reason to believe anyone 100% of the time. Even Woj. This is all a speculation game.
All this letter crap is media contrived BS <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-partner="tweetdeck"><p>The man was sitting on the Cavs bench at halftime while they retired Big Z’s jersey. How did THAT happen if he and Gilbert weren’t cool?</p>— Conrad Kaczmarek (@ConradKazNBA) <a href="https://twitter.com/ConradKazNBA/statuses/487576226068824064">July 11, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Bull****, he would not have even considered the Cavaliers if he felt so strong about that letter though I understand it. I figured that letter was only on that site for a day and taken off. The fact that it stayed there until a week ago is pretty petty of that stinking owner.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-partner="tweetdeck"><p>Miami is still not operating with any real feel for James's decision, per a source. Team seems to be putting its faith in D-Wade to close.</p>— Chris Mannix (@ChrisMannixSI) <a href="https://twitter.com/ChrisMannixSI/statuses/487580291817418752">July 11, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> This is basically what I took from Woj's article. Both sides have shown all their cards, the decision is purely within LBJ's mind. There will be no more (valid) insider info. We'll go from 0 to 60 in a second and find out the decision together (yes, even Sheridan).
The letter angle is just spin to deflect criticism for this taking so long, as critics are now saying this is really turning into the Decision II. I'm sure LeBron is at peace with the letter since he let the process go this far. It is turning into the Decision II because LeBron is an attention w**** and can't help himself.
People keep acting like that letter was unprovoked. That letter represented the collective feelings of the people in Cleveland at the time, Gilbert knows it and Lebron knows it.
Exactly. What disappoints me so much is that I really believed the narrative that LeBron had matured over the past few years, and part of maturing is taking responsibility for your mistakes. When you embarrass your hometown and adoring fans through a globally-televised special, people are going to be very emotional and upset, and upset people tend to say irrational things. Does it condone it? Of course not -- at some point, someone should step up and be the bigger person. But for LeBron to still be upset over people's reaction to how he chose to do The Decision tells me he hasn't truly accepted responsibility for the mistakes he made there. If he doesn't want that July 2010 ego-trip to define his legacy, then he shouldn't let the response to it define how he perceives others.
