CLEVELAND -- A fan walked onto the court during the second quarter of the Los Angeles Clippers-Cleveland Cavaliers game on Saturday, tapped Kyrie Irving on the shoulder and continued to follow him down the court before finally being taken away.

With 3:09 left in the second quarter, a fan wearing jeans and a black jacket walked onto the court behind Irving after Irving had passed the ball to Andrew Bynum and stood on top of the key. After Bynum missed a shot in the paint, the fan tapped Irving on the shoulder, unzipped his jacket and tried to show him a white shirt which read, "KYRIE DONT LEAVE" in all caps, written in black marker.

The fan then began to walk down the court in Irving's direction as Chris Paul was dribbling the ball before the game was finally stopped at the 3:02 mark. Referee Gary Zielinski grabbed the fan before security ran onto the court and physically removed him as he tried to get away.

The fan was removed from the arena and subject to arrest, but it wasn't immediately known if he was arrested or not.

Last season, when the Cavaliers were playing the Miami Heat, a fan ran onto the court during the fourth quarter with a shirt that read, "We Miss You" on the front and "LeBron 2014" on the back.

First, the sad thing is...this isn't the first, or second time CLE has had fans like this run on the court. Obviously can't generalize an entire fan base off a couple of idiots, but c'mon CLE. if anything, players are less likely to stay from you running on the court and asking them to stay.

I do feel bad for CLE fans, but it's not LeBrons fault. All on ownership and FO.

They had 7 (!!!) years to work with Lebron and put a team together, and the best acquisitions they made was a past-his-prime Shaq and Wally Freaking Sczerbiak...

I remember the year before Lebron left, rumors spread that CLE was reluctant to trade Hickson for Bosh.

CLE simply doesnt have a winning FO. If you cant put pieces around Lebron in 7 years, it is in fact time to move on.

That speaks more to the horrendous arena security they seem to have. No reason for any fan to be able to get on the court(except if they are already sitting courtside-where that can't really be avoided).

I hope someone gets fired. It's funny now, but fans shouldn't be able to get that close to players during play and for that long. That guard was waddling over there. Employ someone that can actually do the job.

every time something like this happens, i think of monica seles.

there should be security right by the scorer's table ready to tackle fans that go on the court.

Blake is right to back away. you don't know what that kid has under his jacket.
