Clemens isn't going anywhere. You're about as cool as John Mark Carr.

3 Games back with a month to go, and we call up a guy hitting about .220 in Single A ball? We aren't that desperate to sell tickets are we?

Maybe Clemens is going to come back next year, and they'll announce his deal friday.

I'm thinking the Astros call up Koby Clemens and let him catch his dad one game, or at least an inning. Why couldn't Koby catch his dad. His dad will call all the pitches, all Koby has to do is catch them.

If you don't mind three things:
    1) Losing someone higher in the organization to the Rule V draft,
    2) Wasting an option year when he clearly isn't a major-league ready player,
    and
    3) Possbily losing someone currently on your 40-man to the waiver wire.

Much less jacking with your roster with a stunt like this when you're still in a "playoff hunt".

it's a bad idea. koby ain't a big leaguer yet. frankly, i've been saying since day one he probably won't ever be. jacking around with the roster of a team in a playoff race isn't professional. i don't think roger would even approve of that, honestly. he's far too proud for that.

But if this is what Drayton used to get Roger to come back, and it is what I have been saying all along.....then you have to do it.

I'm sure the $12 million had nothing to do with it.

And which player on the current 40 man roster do you look in the eye and say "Sorry, we're dropping you from the roster so Kody can catch Roger for a game"?

    I don't know....maybe BAGWELL?

I think this is EXACTLY what is happening, and it is what I said would lure Roger back this year.

Since BAGWELL is on the 60 day disabled list, he does not count against the 40 man roster.

Maybe they move someone to the DL to allow him to play.

I just feel this is exactly what is going to happen, being that Friday is September 1st, and Roger said he is pulling a rabbit out of his hat.

Just makes sense....and there are plenty of players they could release or put on the DL......

Not to mention Drayton is all about marketing........it just makes sense.

My guess is that it won't be about Clemens leaving the team. Somebody doesn't announce the owner doing something miraculous to announce that he is deserting the team.
