I think most of McHale's critics would agree that he's a good guy. One should separate a man's character and his professional competence. A very familiar example is Jeremy Lin. Aside from a few haters, most objective people would say that the dude is a class act although not a great NBA PG. That's why using personal attack on a player or a coach just because you think he sucks is asinine.
