    No one has mentioned:
    -Elton John
    -Neil Diamond
    -ELO

Personally, I like Elton, but a lot of people I talk to can't stand him. Crocodile Rock can get annoying.

Pretty much anything by Neil Diamond gets annoying.

ELO has got some great rhythms and sound, but the vocals are ridiculous. I feel like I'm out of the closet when I listen to ELO. Specifically Don't Bring Me Down and Love is Like Oxygen.

    Definitely can't stand Jethro Tull.

And yes, Billy Joel's music is so annoying. Yes, we get it Billy, you love NY/NJ. You don't have to make six albums about it. I think it's the sax solos that piss me off most.

If you count B52's, then ANYTHING by them.

My most hated at the moment: Sultans of Swing by Dire Straits.

Love is like oxygen is from Sweet not ELO. Sultans of Swing is a good song from one of the greatest albums I ever purchased.

The Longest Time - Billy Joel

I just thought the song was in the wrong era at the wrong time.

Neil Diamond is not Classic Rock though I happen to like him ( at least the greatest hits stuff).

ELO has one or two songs that are OK but they gave the absolute worst concert I've ever been to... a 30 minute medley and no encore. The crowd was booing and throwing stuff. They were terrible.

I don't count the B-52's as classic rock either, but I like Love Shack (BANG BANG on the door baby!) and Roam among others.

Gotta throw some love at Dire Straits. I remember when Sultans ('79?) came out... I thought it was cool because they only mention the title twice during the song and not over and over like most songs. It was a definite departure from the usual stuff.

Here is my opinion aboout some things posted in this thread:

I dont know why, you guys dont like that songs, Queen is a great band.

    I like Neil Diamond

Only song I like from Billy Joel is Piano Man

Pink Floyd is a good band.

And like someone said: I like this music over all the crap in the radio today
    Only some singers pass

It looks like we are going to have to fight. ELO is great. I'd pay anything to see them in concert.

Uh, by the way, ELO doesn't sing "Love Is Like Oxygen". That would be Sweet.

Queen is a great band, I just can't stand that one song.

I just do not like anything by Thin Lizzy. I'd rather listen to Jethro Tull, or Journey for that matter.

Classic Rock is 70s rock, right?

    oh my ****ing gawd

there was just too much good stuff going on during this song.

    I consider this 80s.

    Classick Rock sucks.

unless there is some hottie out there that loves it. Then I absolutely LOVE it

I gotta agree with the Billy Joel. He's not universally awful but a lot of his I stuff is so blatantly crass its disgusting. I've never liked "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" or any other of the George Harrison Beatles' tunes. They just seemed too overwrought. Also depending on what your definition of classic rock is I've never liked a lot of the stuff done in the 80's by people who became stars in the 70's and 60's. I can't stand most of Bruce Springsteen's stuff from the 80's particularly 'Pink Cadillac' and 'Glory Days' and I don't know what the heck Clapton was thinking about besides money when he redid 'After Midnight' in the 80's. For awhile there was just this awful confluence of rockers thinking they had rediscovered R & B and a craze for synthesizers and overproduction.

If it sucks, how did it become classic?

All Along the Watchtower, Hendrix - I love Hendrix, but this song is just way too repetitive for me. Same 3 chords over and over again.

Bobby McGee, Janis Joplin - This song makes me want to self-mutilate. Actually, pretty much anything by Janis Joplin does.

    What?

btw-Several of the songs in this thread are great! I cannot think of any that I despise, primarily for the reason that I have put them out of my mind for that reason... I'm trying not to remember them.

But I do feel that Hotel California is over played....

Oh wait... how about Gary Wright's "Dream Weaver." The tiny clip on Wayne's World is enough of it for me. ;)
