It has been so long since I listened to classic rock radio that most of the songs I got sick of are kind of good to me again. I think it's the nostalgia factor. Here's who I hate most of all: Journey. They are the worst. I would rather be kicked the nads then listen to them ever again.
Ha! This thread is exactly as I expected it to be. I'll bet there isn't a single band or song that someone doesn't hate. Oh, why am I not surprised that bigtexx hates Pink Floyd?
I want to thank RMTex. Since I first looked at this thread this morning, I haven't been able to get "Wheel in the Sky" out of my head. I need to get home and start up some Who songs quickly or my brain will explode and vomit the equivalent of Journey's talent all over my workspace. Thanks again.
Not to be nit picky, but... Neil Schon (guitarist) was discovered by Carlos Santana and actually played in Santana for 4 years....at the age of 15. And Steve Smith (drummer) graduated from Berklee School of Music and has played with Frank Gambale, Steps Ahead, Randy Brecker, Stanley Clarke, Stu Hamm, Victor Wooten, and has even sat in with the Buddy Rich Big Band. Just thought I'd throw that out there.
"That Smell" - Lynyrd Skynyrd <--- the winnar "Jim Dandy" - Black Oak Arkansas "Angel in the Centerfold" - J. Geils Band "No Sugar Tonight" - The Guess Who "Money" - Pink Floyd "Lucky Man" - ELP "I got a Line on You" - Spirit
This thread actually cracks me up. I will take the worst classic rock song rather than listen to the crap being spewed out today.
Because I know good music, and Pink Floyd ain't it. Good classic rock: CCR, Bad Company, The Who, Boston, Chicago.
You "anything by ____________" people suck. Pretty much all bands have at least something worth listening to.
Are you kidding me, REO Speedwagon is awesome, "Time For Me to Fly", "Take it on the Run", "Can't Fight this Feeling". Don't hate.
Ditto. Funny thing is I LOVE pretty much everything listed here and am a youngin' from 1982. Go figure... The only classic rock song I can think of that I dislike is Oy Como Va by Santana. There's just something grating about it.
By the way, what does everyone consider classic rock? My cutoff is 1980, but with the death of 101, you'll hear stuff like GnR on 93.7.
