it could have been so much better if they had a larger budget.

    Dude,

The budget was 229 million. How much more did it need?

    Sarcasm???

I heard they were supposed to be doing a remake of The Warriors but its supposed to be set in LA.

They just need to re-release originals. I'm trying to think if there's any re-makes that I like better and can't recall any at the moment.

...which is why they make such horrible books, IMO. Stilted second-hand science lectures coming from stock characters as intermissions between the chase sequences.

I think "Timeline" was the very worst in that regard - I read the thing and found it insultingly bad, precisely because it seemed like the treatment for a stanky movie rather than a novel.

I don't know if it is old enough to qualify as a classic, but Jurassic Park should be remade as faithful to the book as possible.

And the second one even more so. The first Jurassic Park wasn't terrible. The second and third were.

I halfway want to say Blazing Saddles, but I don't think it could be any better. :D
