Clyde is hilarious. I love CLyde's commentary. I won't argue about the faults that people bring up about it, but that doesn't make him less likable on the mike to me. He just seems nice, like he is having fun, and he does come up with some great quotes. Did anyone see the other night, when they were coming back from half-time or a time out, and the camera was on an elderly man in the crowd. The guy looked like an old timey mobster. I don't think Drexler knew the mikes were live, and the only thing that could be heard while the old man's face was on the screen was Clyde Drexler's voice saying in a puzzled tone... "What the heck!!?!?!?!?!?" It was hilarious. A few seconds later Clyde and Bill started talking about the game like nothing happened.
the alston one is better cuz he cant shoot 50% for one game! and he misses wide open threes. hwo can you put him in the same sentense as steve nash?
about a month ago, not sure what game but when he said, " hey, get a room" after tap on the butt or something like that. Anyone remember? I was laughing so much. It just seemed so out of character for him.
I'm surprised no one's mentioned, "He's a seasoned veteran".... I always wonder what a plain veteran would be like....
Could it be that Mario Elie never comes up with another or opposing argument. His phrases usually start with "Good point, Kevin" or something similar....
When I started playing seriously, I actually modeled my game after Clyde. I love the way he used to just put his head down and barrel towards the basket. He has some of the most beautiful dunks of all time.
Class 1: "X is a seasoned veteran" E.g.: "Luther Head is well on his way to becoming a seasoned veteran." Class 2: "And that's what you call X" E.g.: After TMac scoring 12 points in the first 5 minutes of a game: "And that's what you call 'getting off to a good start.'"
