Maybe it's not he style of music, more of how it was used. Like with 300, it felt like the music was crafted around the cut of the trailer. But here, it feels like they just tacked it on to a bunch of clips from the movie. I know it seems like a nitpick, but for me, it makes the difference between something that is epic and fresh and something that is bland and generic. I know we're talking about a remake here, but that doesn't mean it can't be the former.
The second trailer for this movie is now out: <object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/IazoKiYyGCY&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/IazoKiYyGCY&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>
Nah...didn't mean that part or actor actually. I was taking a jab at Richard Gere as I think this would be a movie he would be in at this point in his career. this is a conclusion i arrived at. lol.
Pulled for copyright infringement? It's a frickin' trailer. You know, a commercial to get more people to go pay for your movie! Why would you think the owl isn't in there just because he's not in the trailer? I don't know about this. Obviously, they can do the movie with a lot more polish now. But, I don't know if they can top the original.
Why does every movie HAVE to be epic and serious. The original clash of the titans had a much more "campy" feel to it. clash of the titans needed a comedy writer not an epic piece of crap cgi.

DD
While it certainly had some comedic elements, the story was very grandiose and epic. I still have that Clash of the Titans on DVD, and the story is still very good. Effects are very dated, but its one of the last bastions of the stop motion/claymation stuff of Harryhausen. I look forward to this new take on it, but at the same time the old one will always hold a place in history.
I hate how most people on this board are so picky. Not just about movies but anything that has to do with entertainment. Looks like crap, crappy music, actors suck etc.. I'm sorry your not important enough for film directors to craft your every needs.
Yeah but guess what? This is a well loved classic movie being directed by a mediocre director. If you can't tell a good directed movie from a badly directed movie, that is your problem. If you're very satisfied with all the crap ass movies, good for you because other people have different opinions than you do.
While this is true, we havent seen the movie and I am quite certain there will be a proper orchestral score in this. I dont think they are going for the "300" angle with the music. Though that film also had quite a score. I havent seen anything in the trailer that says it will be a disservice to the original. So far I am really looking forward to it.
This trailer play a bit better with that terrible heavy metal soundtrack muted. I mean a movies or trailers could be totally enhanced with proper music or vice versa but this trailer is a big failure. This trailer is all over the places. From some decent scenes to some terrible scenes that look like it's being shot on a studio lot with bad lighting. But if you take a look at the posters. The atmosphere of the movie does not look like anything from the impressive posters. I was expecting the movie will have that special look from what we are getting from the posters. That trailer does not have that special fantasy feel to it for some reason for me. It just look like a total mess.
Ok, I've taken a closer look at the Kraken and for some reason. This does not look anything like a classic mythology fantasy creature. It's like this Kraken creature is coming out of some scifi movie or game like God of War. I think it's the head design that is throwing me off and it's look to similar to Lord of the Rings creature design head.
Man I loved that movie...and that guy that was in it who looked like Robert Parish...the devil one hahah
Interesting, there's this film in March, adn the Percy Jackson film in Feb. I woder will the 'Mythology' films make a comeback like the superhero genre....
