im sure Dubya/Rove have a lot of dirty tricks planned for next year to try and confuse, instill fear, and bully people into voting for Bush again

but if the Dem's can put out a solid, unified, loud, and persistant voice next year, this election is going to be EASY to win...

the lies just keep building up for Bush, he does he best to avoid any and all situations where he might actually be called upon to answer for his lies, but during the run up to the election, he will be EXPOSED* for what he is..

Though I personally believe we need to start with the politicians, not the lawyers.

Max, you have failed to grasp the central argument. The argument is that Clark had a wealth of talents from which to draw on upon completion of his military career. Finance was not one of these talents. Why choose to go into a field in which you have no prior experience when you can do so many other important functions for the country? MONEY. Plain and simple. Having worked in banking, I can confirm that this is the motivation of all involved.

there are a lot of people in this great country who choose a profession or career based on the salary they can earn...as a champion of capitalism, you ought to know that best. i don't see anything inherently wrong with it...good people can be a service and an asset in any industry.

Oh the irony of T_J lambasting someone as a "sellout" for seeking to make money...

I dated the daughter of one of the astronauts once. After NASA, he went to work for a financial services firm. Why, you might ask, would someone whose expertise is in piloting a space shuttle go to work there?

Because they offered him a job. It happened to be the best one out there and he took it. Same thing, they made the best offer that Clark got and he took it. :rolleyes:

Difference is that you seem to actually think about your position on issues rather than being blinded by the right. Sounds like a Wierd Al parody of the Manfred Mann tune, huh?

Blinded by the right, Rush Limbaughs a god, and that Ann Coulters out of sight
Blinded by the right, I act like a sheep, everything that I say is trite

For the thinking conservatives out there, obviously this does not apply to you.

Interesting stuff from a Zogby Poll:

http://draftwesleyclark.com/poll.htm

DraftWesleyClark.com Releases Zogby Poll: In “Blind Bio” Match-Up, Wesley Clark Tops All Current Democrats, Beats Bush 49% to 40%

(Washington, DC), August 25, 2003- DraftWesleyClark.com, the national campaign to draft former General Wesley Clark for President, today released the results of a Zogby poll commissioned to address the potential of a Clark candidacy. The results were presented as part of an overall report by political analyst and former professor, Chris Kofinis, Ph.D.

Among the findings:

· “Too Late?” – 84.1% of likely Democratic primary voters say it is not too late for a new entrant into the race to win their support;
· “Military/National Security” – 73.5% of all likely voters rate military/national security experience as “very” or “somewhat” important for a presidential candidate;
· “Clark vs. Dems” -- Clark comes in first in a blind-bio match-up versus six key Democratic candidates (Dean, Kerry, Edwards, Lieberman, Gephardt, Edwards, and Graham);
· “Clark vs. Bush” -- Clark wins 49.4% to 40.2% in a blind-bio match-up versus President Bush among a national poll of likely voters;
· Even when the poll question referred solely to candidate names (no bio information), Clark jumped to 5th place (4.9%) nationally among likely Democratic primary voters – despite his low name recognition, and the fact that he has not spent a dime.

Not sure how the poll was conducted, so I don't know if there's any or how much bias is involved there.

The blind bio poll is hardly indicative of how voters will cast their vote. Name recognition is very important, as is political party affiliation. Those results don't tell me much, Major.
