Wow is this going to the be the first constructive Lin thread ever? Well done OP.

Hope this quiets some of the pro-Lin crowd that thinks everyone is out to get him. I also hope both sides of the Lin War stop treating the vocal troll-ish, minority as the majority.

I also disagree with the idea that Lin/Harden is a bad fit. In their first year together they combined for almost 40 and 12 in 78 games together AND they led the team to a playoff berth during a "rebuilding year."

How exactly is that a bad fit? Keep in mind it was both of their first years as starters and both of their rookie years with the team and each other. If that is a bad fit, then I'll take it. Plus some games when they were both clicking, they were absolutely DEVASTATING.

Adding Howard to the equation changes everything, so we'll have to wait and see what develops. Lin may remain the starter, or he may be moved to the bench in the name of balance. But either way I predict a big year for Lin and the Rockets.

I think he did fine having it the way it is. He attempted to put in an option that covered pretty much every view of Mr. Lin that's held by the various and sundry here, and succeeded, in my humble opinion. You can vote for several choices, if you like. I voted for 3 different ones.

I think this is the main reason he draws so much criticism. Rockets fans have been spoiled by Morey. Every contract, except for the stars, is expected to be a bargain. Seems fans only see non-star players two ways: as underperforming waste of cap space or overperforming and thus soon to be replaced asset.

This really is a good post it seems like the people on CF are pretty level headed. I guess its just a very vocal minority that I will continue to ignore.

No one hates Lin, his delusional fanbase is another case. Lin can be good to very good when he plays with confidence.

    Good thread OP

I like Lin but I am not some hardcore fanboy that is happy with letting the entire team suffer while he succeeds like the LOF minority. Lin is a good player, solid starter that has the potential to improve. I really think he can improve his 3 point percentage. He has good court vision. His handles could be better. Overall he is solid.

I don't want to start any trouble and ruin this good thread but i am curious to why people think Bev is a capable starting point guard. His great at one on one defense is great but every time watched him play the Rockets offense went into a stand still only to be bailed out by harden. Is bev actually more consistent at the 3? I really don't know.

I think all of us won't really know until after a some games into the season

That's always going to be the case. NBA players are untouchable for 2 reasons typically; you are a star or you have an amazing contract. Some players fit both categories (Lebron) and others fit the latter (Parsons). If you are not a star, you are a role player, then you are replaceable. Now certain role players are more valuable than others, say Asik VS Smith, but ultimately both are still replaceable. That said, most of my favorite players are non-stars.

If you think Rockets fans are alone in this, you are kidding yourself. And if you think Rockets fans before Morey became GM would also somehow have no issue with Lin's contract, you'd also be delusional.

When a person is a fan of a team, then he cares for the success of the team above all else. If a player/contract is hindering the team from reaching optimal success, said player will be criticized until (A)he is traded or leaves via FA or (B)play better until his contract/playing ability is no longer a burden to the team.

In this regards, Lin is not special in anyway.

You are the problem. Stop antagonizing and branding people whenever they don't agree with you. It's getting tiresome. This is a good thread, don't derail it into your group (the haters) versus the LOFs (the non-Houston supporting idiots who blame Harden and call people racist). And no, I'm not reading this from this post, I'm talking about your body of work. I already know that real Rockets fans don't hate or dog Lin any more than he deserves.

How many points and assists will cp3 or rondo get when playing with harden?

Same as how many for a PG will get when playing with Kobe, LBJ ?

13 & 6 playing with harden in 1st full year is not bad for a "PG".

Sticky, and ban every other Lin thread please haha.

Either way, with the current PG rotation + the Harden/Howard/Parsons trio, the Rockets can go very very far into the playoffs. WCF upcoming season.

This is what I am hoping for.

I hope Lin fans feel a bit better about the environment here. I also hope they don't get too stressed when people criticize Lin when he has a bad game or don't get too carried away when he has a good game.

    Everything in moderation :)
