The coaches are not the topic here. If you would like to inquire about my stance on what should be done with coaches or the program's responsibilities and liabilities, feel free to ask, but please do not put words in my mouth. Since the topic was brought up I will tell you, for a long time now I have had a huge issue with coaches bringing down a program and then moving on to another D1 job and coaching while the school is left with punishment. Whether it be basketball, football or baseball, I think IF it is proven that the coach or AD are found to have knowledge of infractions: 1) It should be mandatory that those individuals be prohibited from coaching AT LEAST as long as the school they left is on probation (and it would not be all that bad to have them suspended longer if not indefinitely). OR 2) The program that hires them must also accept the same punishment the program he just left Furthermore, in this case, if it is found the school participated in the academic fraud or had any knowledge of these infractions before the end of the season that OSU should be stripped of their Nat'l Championship. The NCAA does not have the balls to do something like that b/c of the economic impact on them penalizing one of the top teams in their league. It is a joke that they accept the self-imposed penalties and do not look into it any further (just as in the Bama case). All that essentially is doing is telling the school, "punish yourself, and we won't look into it any further," only to later find out that there are additional infractions that were not uncovered b/c they went away (then they later come out).
I agree, not a moron, but last night I saw clips from various interviews over the past 10 months and my first thought was the academic fraud was likely in English 101.
