Accuracy at its best! CJ has moved into #5 for yardage with only 1 INT, and the top 4 quarterbacks have a combined 29 interceptions!
Yeah, in the first half, I noticed he was having some major accuracy issues. Missing wide open guys by a lot. I was wondering what was going on... rookie wall, regression to mean... I don't know what. But, in the second half, he made me forget ALL ABOUT THAT!! Like, literally, I forgot that he seemed to be struggling earlier in the game. That just blew me away!
Lol yeah you were gonna change your avatar to CJ Stroud because you were adamant he'd suck this season while talking up Levis, and I said Stroud would be in ROY conversations. Well looks like both are gonna be pretty good
Fun Fact Stroud is on pace to break the rookie QB passing record set by Andrew Luck in 2012 with 4,374 yards. Stroud will break the record with 4,460 YDS if he keeps averaging his season 262 YDS per game in the next 7 games. He passed for 826 yards the past two games. Even better is that Luck threw 18 INT that year!
If anyone had told me the turnover numbers, I would not believe we won the game. If anybody told me the dropped pass numbers, I would not have believed we won the game. I WANT to believe, but I have been conditioned for over 50 years to expect disappointment. Even when my teams won, it was not expected.
Those 2 fumbles were such bs....especially the 2nd was not a fumble, the refs were fcking blind. First one was weird as heck, just unfortunate. Honestly, Texans should've won easily yesterday...but at least this way we were able to see CJ's ability once again to put it on his shoulders and get that last winning drive with less than 2min.
I said this to a group of friends: taking age and contract into consideration, I'm not sure there's a QB in the NFL I'd trade for CJ Stroud. Removing age and contract from the equation, I'd (obviously) deal Stroud for Mahomes... But after that? I'm going to need more than 9 games to say no to Allen, Burrow, Hurts, Herbert, Lamar, Trevor - but if Stroud keeps this up....... Larger point: Right now, CJ Stroud is very comfortably among the 8 best QBs in the NFL, and the kid - again, if he continues at even 3/4 of this pace - is on a rocket to the top 5.
Absolutely. Factoring in contract plays a huge part. If it’s just a talent thing there’s maybe only 3-4 I would consider. Mahomes/Allen/Burrow/Herbert. But even then, it’s only a consideration.
Maybe I'm a prisoner of the moment, but I think we can safely take Trevor Lawrence off the list of QBs that we're hesitant to place CJ above. Dude has had one good half of a season in his 2+ year career up to this point. Awful first year, bad first half last year, great second half last year, and sucks this year. Has a great defense and very good weapons around him. I don't think it's too far of a reach to say CJ is already playing better than Lawrence ever has as a pro.
