That last one with the gold was and still is my favorite uniform they've worn the past 25 years. The first black one was also great. The gold just looked so unique and wasn't overdone. The colors were a proper evolution from the bright red and gaudy yellow from the 80s/90s. Really wish they would establish the bold red and gold as colors going forward. The current uniform set is so bland, yet manic. It's generic with pointless curves. Awful.
To me these mixtape jerseys are what the rebrand should’ve been in the 90s. Keep the logo, embrace space blue and add the pinstripes as a new cool look. The court is also much better than what we had, though the paint (partially) or around the court should be red.
All the City Edition gear is 50% off at Rockets Shop through 8/28 https://rocketsshop.com/collections...ium=email&utm_source=rockets&utm_content=hero I’m looking at this one https://rocketsshop.com/collections...-hooded-varsity-jacket?variant=40115796705324
Thanks!! Don’t understand why we didn’t go w/ Clutch City but I’m sure they wanted to keep in line w/ city - Nike doesn’t allow anything else. Not getting a jersey that has that Credit Karma Money patch, no chance pink pants!
Sorry bro, it's pretty much universally agreed that the pinstripes were/are garbage. Fertitta probably was able to cut some costs by bringing these back.
It’s been 20 years with the Yao Era horrible dripping R. this is an actually nice throwback with the color scheme while keeping the champion era logo
Yeah I don’t understand why the dripping R is still around. It’s not remotely iconic. Rebrand that thing.
A decade ago maybe. Now it would be the most “on sale” jersey in sports. I know he still has his stans like all celebrity, but more broadly, people have grown tired of his gimmicks/antics and his stuff has never been aesthetically cool - just desirable as a status symbol but he is since outlived his cultural relevancy that drove the scarcity that made his shoes/clothes a status symbol in the first place.
I’m not really seeing any similarities in that comparison, does it look orange to you or something else?
I immediately thought Knicks when I saw the color scheme, but you've reminded me that the Knicks use orange rather than red. Still, that's what I was reminded of. I like the classic red and mustard yellow and white color scheme. I'd just like to see more of that, more callbacks to the championship glory days.
