LOL -- Riverside is so bad that they're in the top five worst... TWICE. A spectacular achievement. I'm surprised there aren't more NoCal towns and cities in the top ten, given all the nice snow melt, and I was surprised by Fort Worth! Stockyard filtration FTW!
Also, and sorry for double post, but somebody should mention how awful plastic bottles are for people. Tap water is a lot better for you, apparently, than drinking the residuals from a plastic bottle. Folks, that is real.
Everyone in Boulder tells me the same thing, but apparently there are high levels of estrogen in it. Not sure if estrogen has a flavor, but I know the water tastes gross.
The water in Davie, FL (suburb of Ft. lauderdale)..their tap water is yellow, Surprised its not on the 10 worst.
I've never been one to believe that bottled water is actually somehow 'better' for you, but it ALWAYS tastes better than the tap I've had to drink, which is why I have no problem picking it up. I don't do it very often but I much rather do that than drink the tap. Personally, though, I'm more inclined to go with the 'filtered tap' system. Britta FTW.
lol. sucker. As a whole, America has some of the best water in the world and there are billions of people world wide that drink tap water ...and manage to live. In fact, everybody in this country too grew up on tap water. Bottled water is a new thing in the past 20 years or so. I'm 37 and routinly drank from my garden hose growing up while playing outside all summer long. Wars are being fought and people are dying over the high cost of oil ...and you are paying more for water than gasoline. In many instances, bottled water literally comes from the tap. Since it isn't regulated, you have no idea. City water is at least regulated. bottled water is nice in a pinch. If you drink it more than that, you are a marketing drone.
All this talk about cleaning up the Environment . . . I think we should start here. Making Water DRINKABLE again fresh out of the tap will kill the water industry but will also kill all those plastic bottles Since we don't beleive in giving people ANYTHING for free which includes drinkable water. .. . then it won't happen SOMEONE has to profit from it . . . . so you will have *****ty water so SOMEONE can sell you 'good' water and make a profit and keep the system going Rocket River
lol I drink bottled water because it tastes better. Its 5 bucks for a pack of 30 bottles. It's hardly an expense for me so I have no problem buying it if is TASTES better.
I use a filter and a travel mug. Paying for something that is free and adding unnecessary production/pollution doesn't make sense.
The best water that anyone can get is Glacier Water... and boy I tell you... that stuff is goooooood. I went to Canada a few years back... got some $20 Glacier Water... better than even Artesian water.
Lets keep things in perspective. The best bottle of water in the world still ain't as good as a mediocre bottle of beer. It's water. Seriously. If it tastes bad, put one of those packets of crystal light in it or cool aid or something and move along. All I care about is that it won't make me sick ...like Mexico. Baring health problems ...whatever.
Houston has one of the worst quality of air, worst traffic, some of the highest crime, crappy weather, and now in the top ten in most unhealthy water?
Just get a few of those big 5 gallon jugs and fill them up at the reverse osmosis station for $1 and then you have no worries. This solution will work for the cheap skates who don't want to pay for water as well, $1 for 5 gallons of clean water is not and should not be an issue for any of you.
i use a brita filter, which probably doesnt do much, but i can definitely taste a difference b/t that and straight from the tap. i live in austin - i would not have thought that we would be top 10. i wonder if all that crap they put in our water has anything to do w/ the taste? flouride is common, but all this other stuff???
