that's why your phone isn't working genius. it's because your phone has been using the 1900 band exclusively instead of using the proper 850 band for cingular. Under cingular, the 1900 band is primarily used for back up and roaming only. it's like putting regular gas into a car that only uses premium--sure you can use the regular stuff but it'll cost you in the end.
