Watched it at the amc 24 in 3d. I'm blaming the crappie focus on amc and not on the movie. Unless, the movie wasn't design for 3d. Just didn't feel like stuff was coming out the screen. good movie
The movie did a poor job on explaining who we were going against. I thought we were invading France not the matrix creatures.
I really enjoyed this movie! Tom Cruise really is a great actor, regardless of his personal life being crazy. And of course, asskicking Emily Blunt alone should be 10/10. 8/10.
Going to see it on Friday -- I can't believe i'm excited about seeing a TC movie, but the reviews and comments i've read make it seem pretty epic -- especially for a science fiction movie.
I liked the "All You Need is Kill" ending better, but I guess that would have been too depressing for moviegoers.
Did you actually watch it, or did you just see him cast in the role? He was excellent in Jack Reacher.
Watched it last night and thought it was awesome. Good action and sci-fi together, with good leads and supporting cast. I have to admit, I didn't give it much thought considering the Groundhog Day theme and Tom Cruise action movies were played out, but after hearing the good reviews, it did live up to the expectations. I still had some complaints, though. Spoiler Like why the general was so adamant about Cage being on the frontlines, and nobody at the FOB knew who he was considering he was all over the news. Also, the ending was a bit weird but Hollywood does need its happy ending. Probably my favorite summer movie so far. If I had to rank them, it'd go: 1. Edge of Tomorrow 2. X-Men: Days of Future Past 3. Godzilla Captain America still takes best movie of the year, though.
Spoiler The general thing was rather underdeveloped but I would assume that originally he wanted him to cover it with the embedded crew, which I assume would have been better protected, he mentioned to "sell the war" as he states originally. After he refused and then tried to blackmail his way out of it, general see him as a traitorous deserter and throws him down to the lowest possible rung of the army, grunts first on the beach. The fact that nobody seemed to know who he was seems like a logical misstep.
