I assume he is just trolling the thread... I could understand if this was a Wes Anderson film.

Anyway, the Coen Brothers are some of the best living directors. The only movie they've made that I didn't like much was "Intolerable Cruelty" but even that wasn't godawful.

Looks very good. I don't care for the Coen Brothers as much as most, but this one looks promising.

We're about due another hipster comment from Commodore any day now! Once when this thread was made and once six months later. Come on, buddy, maybe you'll get your point across on the third try. As they say, it's the charm!

Just saw it with Mrs. B-Bob and we're both still digesting it. Surprisingly intense, in a cerebral way, while being rambling, moody and aimless.

The music is just fantastic, and it's in no way a "hipster" movie, unless you're worried about the "hipsters" of 1961. It is completely and totally immersed in the world of that year, very specifically.

I really think it's a great film, made with a lot of care and a lot of thought.

Instead of the main character being an A-hole, I thought he was very sympathetic actually. He was really just trying to make good on his dreams and what God-given talent he had.

Going to be percolating for a while -- there's a ton I missed, in terms of references.

Finally, as if I needed to say this: nobody does winter like the Coen brothers.
