The action looks great (I think the web swinging parts are looking more realistic in this one), still hate the redesigned costume, and I'm worried that they are going the route of Ang Lee's Hulk where Bruce Banner's dad had planted the seed that eventually leads to his transformation. The dialogue makes it sound like Peter's dad is responsible for him becoming Spiderman.
This movie I think is a little under the radar and to me my most anticipated comic book movie out of the 3 that's coming out this summer... Emma Stone is probably the reason why...
Yep. That's the exact same impression I've been getting from all the interviews and what not. And frankly it's ****ING STUPID. With that said, I read an interview yesterday and the director (also directed 500 days of summer) said that the trailers are really focusing on action. He feels the better parts are the dialogue, and we should start seeing that soon. Initially I thought this movie looked incredibly stupid, but the more I see it I'm warming up to it. I really like that they have him messing with the criminals and being really sarcastic (like Spiderman is supposed to be). I've said it before and I'll say it again; the previous spiderman trilogy had a good Peter Parker, and a terrible spiderman (Tobey Macguire...or however you spell his last name).
Emma stone is the reason you want to see this more than Avengers or DKR? Go watch Easy A (assuming you haven't seen it) instead; she's fantastic in that. There's no way this movie is better than either of the 2 aforementioned movies though. Like 0 chance.
You do realize spiderman is marvel's most popular character, much more so than avengers? That movie might be better, but you can't make a blanket statement.
What does spiderman's popularity have to do with anything? (And to nitpick, I bet Wolverine is more popular than Spiderman at this point, if not the Xmen in general) I know enough about the plot of the movie, and I've seen/read enough to know it won't be better than the other two. You're comparing a movie that features 4 characters that starred in their own blockbuster films and the culmination of 5+ years of planning, along with the sequel to arguably the best comic book movie ever (and maybe one of the best movies in general, TDK) to a reboot that is going to explore Peter Parker's origin for the 800th time. You actually think there is some chance it will be BETTER than Avengers or Dark Knight Rising? This isn't fanboy talk here, it's common sense. No judgement, I feel you there.
I really hate the fact they're changing his origin. Maybe it'll be done well who knows but I'm setting my expectations lower for this one than I did for Avengers or TDKR.
I rarely opt for the 3D version of any movie...but after seeing the 3D trailer for this movie, I'm all in. Looking forward to seeing this with my sons.
4 minute preview. ummmmm <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/16AwVWvjQhY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Looked really good. I hope they make him kind of a sarcastic smart ass throughout the whole movie, like he is in the car jacker scene.
I think it looks good and seems to be closer to the comics than the tobey maguire crap. It's like some of u are complaining b/c it doesnt look cheesy. And they're prolly prepping for spiderman to join the avengers sometime later.
The action looks good. I don't really like the casting but anything is better than Tobey McGuire. Although Parker is a nerd, he was good looking enough to hook up with some pretty hot chicks.
You are kidding right? Andrew Garfield is a stud in the making.. Have you seen the social network? He has a chance to be a next gen actor. Very likeable.
Yeah I agree, the guy got the boyish looks/charm and acting credits to be in more Spidey movies.. Big improvement over Tobey Maguire but until the movie can surpass Spider-Man 2, nothing is set in stone yet.. Having Emma Stone is big improvement as well, I love me a red head...
I agree, Garfield is a big improvement over Tobey Maguire (I never liked him as spiderman. Too much nerd, not enough funny. I also can't take him seriously as someone who would ever win a fight. He seems like a wuss.) My understanding is blonde is her natural hair color. Haha.
