He's just being an stubborn old man and doesn't want to admit he had to steal from other people to get an Oscar That's pretty much it really, you're naive if you think otherwise
It's been pushed back!!!!

Spike Lee's next joint, OLDBOY, will now drop Wed. To no one's surprise, the critics are KILLING this. 46% on Rottentomatoes, 4.2 on imdb, 51 on metacritic. Spike Lee is a has-been hack.
Yeah. I went to the movies this past weekend and saw showtimes for it. Had completely forgotten about it.
I'm curious about what changes were made to the story, if anyone has seen it. I've read it's got some major departures.
I don't plan on ever seeing it so I just read the plot on wiki out of curiosity. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oldboy_(2013_film)
twist didn't seem too bad, not too different from the original. they must have not executed as well as the original
For anyone curious, it's streaming on Netflix now. Watched it last night, watchable but does feel like a pale imitation with some minor tweaks....
I thought the remake was pretty bad. The hammer scene looked terrible. Not even comparable. The only saving grace was elizabeth olsen in certain scenes....
