Maybe. I'm a little skeptical because before Sony caved they tried to go forward with a release and only backed down when they met a lot of resistance from theater owners. It sounded like Sony was going to go forward if the theaters willingly followed. That makes me think the about-face was because of:
    1. A more narrow release wasn't financially feasible (or maybe less profitable than a web release?)
    2. A refusal by theatre owners to indemnify Sony if there was any violence.
And/or 3. A slow realization of the gravity of the situation that really only dawned on them after theater owners said no.

It also says Sony has no future plans to release The Interview. Could they shelve it for good? I wanna see it, I ALREADY MADE PLANS!

    LOL.

    This whole situation is funny.

So how do the actors get paid?

So the studio is not going to release the film then hackers are going to steal the film and leak it on the internet.

Wouldn't be the first completed film to never be shown to the public. It will leak online eventually.

At this point, it's pretty obvious to me that whatever got taken from Sony goes way, way beyond some emails. I'd guess financial/accounting data or scripts/treatments/post-production media that are somehow irreplaceable. "Kill this movie and you can have it back."

Would make for a great sequel to team america. Pretty much the opposite of the first one, this time team america has to protect Hollywood.

I can see it now, team america has been unemployed throughout the Obama administration and are called to action when nk attacks Hollywood.

Are there evidence that NK actually did it?

    Pretty much its 100% confirmed.

The coding language is almost identical to the language used to hack South Korean banks last year. Lost them hundreds of millions. North Korea is very good at hacking, from reports. They supposedly got the password and credentials of a very high ranking Sony official, and thus, had access to really everything.

I remember a lot of people in this country got their panties in a bunch when the great group Public Enemy made their video to their classic song 'By The Time I Get To Arizona'... So I can understand NK being upset about the movie.

That's one crazy azz dictator Sony picked to make fun of and they got punked and that's what they get.

again? :) DPRK has had a pretty tough, Sixers-like losing streak. Hope they can savor this win over a D-league corporation.

Yeah, I think if a major Hollywood studio made a nationwide-released movie with A-list stars about killing a sitting President of the United States (any President, Democrat or Republican), there would be an uproar. And I know I, for one, would not support such a film.

This was a funny idea for a movie. I just think it was just a really, really bad idea to actually make it.

yup. The actors got paid. The studio is the one who will be left with the bill. But I'm sure Seth had some of the back-end so he's still missing out on some pretty good change

Who knew the north Koreans had this much animosity towards Jews in Hollywood?
