Cooper's kid was a good actor. Made me want to punch him in the face-- sign of a good actor.

Anyone else laugh when Gosling's voice was squeaking as he was robbing the bank?

I thought this was a great movie, btw. My only complaint is the beginning scene where they just HAD to show off Gosling half naked. I loved the structure of the movie vs. being a typical crime movie.

[Movie] The Place Beyond the Pines

Between 42 and Iron Man 3 being out, it hasn't gotten much attention. But I thought it was an incredible movie and I would highly recommend it.

yeah I feel like most good movies these days are depressing lol. Such great acting, the only thing that annoyed me was Avery's son. A little bit too over the top.

I liked it. May e a 6.5 out of ten. Maybe 7. It would rate much higher if there was any semblance of a "point", other than to just make you think about life. Which has merit... Just thought the plot was lacking somewhere.

But the acting was superb. From Golsing (who can be one note but also can surprise - ala robbery scenes) to Mendez and Coope (who both put on great performances) to even Ray Liottas cameo and he kids. And the music and cinematography was fantastic.

But as alluded to, Cooper was probably the bright spot. Haven't seen Silver Lining yet, but certainly want to now.

Sounds decent. I do recommend Silver Linings by the way.
