the movie may have not been great but I think its the best role that shows he has range. you're right he's not a great A lister, but I find him better than a few others like Clooney which immediately comes to mind.
clooney has def. lost his niche. although Micheal Clayton was one of the best movies I have seen in the past 3-4 years.
from that trailer, it seems like an awful lot of german-hating.......mr. weinstein seems to have really outdone even sasha baron this summer
Dang man, His work in "Legends Of The Fall" was extra ordinary. With that you have some OUTSTANDING performances in: A River Runs Through It Fight Club Seven 12 Monkeys Snatch Babel And IMO his very best performance in "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford".
legends of the fall was a boring chick flick. sausage fest. would have been alot better without pitt. nothing special. nothing special. actually a pretty decent movie. easily one of the most mind-numbingly painful performances ever. A film full of over acting, absolutely no plot and dead ending. never seen it. you also have to lump in pitt's stinkers. The Mexican Oceans series troy burn after reading spy game the list goes on.
i always like when people talk like this if you said this to him in person he would probably just laugh at you. maybe ask you what you have done in life turn around and walk away.
that's debatable, but yeah...a few too many pitt close-ups how so? laughable...he did a great job in that movie, as did Ed Norton agreed, but it was a great movie...especially the first time watched really? special enough to win a Golden Globe and to get nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the Academy Awards and his character was great
anyone that doesn't think pitt is a good actor that has played some great roles in some terrific movies is an idiot.
please. I await your response and would love for you to learnz me some film. most of the film I watch is foreign/indie film (hence the melanie laurent reference in my earlier post) so spare my your drone label.
It is very hard to take you seriously. If you can't see the acting talent and depth portrayed in any of the films that were mentioned earlier.....Either you have A. Bad Taste. B. A Shallow Brain. C. A Bias. D. All of the above. Kindly respond to Blake, and explain yourself...
I take back what I said about Rocket River earlier in this thread, Landlord Landry doesn't belong discussing cinema with hedgehogs.
I don't necessarily think saying he is the worst A-list actor and saying he is a bad actor are necessarily the same. I think it depends on your definition of "A-list". I went to Wikipedia’s definition of “A-list” and according to their entry, the following were the A-list actors/actresses for the most recent year: Will Smith Johnny Depp Brad Pitt Tom Hanks George Clooney Will Ferrell Reese Witherspoon Nicolas Cage Leonardo DiCaprio Russell Crowe If that is the A list, I'd definitely put him on the bottom third, and I don't think that is a terrible insult. I would say that IMO Ferrell would be far and away the worst on that list, but I don't think it would find it insane for someone to have Pitt last. From my perspective, I think Pitt can sometimes be a little wooden delivering lines in his more straight, dramatic roles. I think he did a great job in 12 Monkeys, but sometimes that sort of "out there" role is easier to dive head first into without having to draw on genuine emotion. I also think you can tell that at some point in the past Pitt really had to work on diction, as he sometimes gets a little mush-mouthed, and at least for me this causes problems with suspension of disbelief. And as someone already said, the work he appears to have put into the southern accent in the trailer leaves something to be desired. But it isn't like saying he is worse than Keanu Reeves, or something insulting like that. I guess I would like to see, among the Pitt fans, how they would order that list to put him at the top. Would you guys really say the majority of that list is worse than Pitt?
