Anyone who says Reservoir Dogs was a useless movie doesn't belong in a thread discussing cinema.

-Mike Myers is in it (i think a major role actually)

I read a review about it yesterday and it was glowing. Now I'm reading people at Cannes are split. I'll see it anyway. Liked most of his stuff.

I think this looks pretty good actually. I thought Grindhouse was kind of uh, self-aggrandizing? They were just like "look how violent and gritty this is, isn't this awesome?" Kill Bill I liked quite a bit, Jackie Brown is sitting on the shelf right next to me, and nothing more needs to be said about Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs.

Natural Born Killers was worth watching once...

I think Brad Pitt is generally fine for the roles he takes, but we'll see how this turns out. Trailers are kind of useless as far as evaluation is concerned.

Reservoir Dog is a carbon copy of City on fire (A Hong Kong movie). Jackie Brown was his most underrated film, which was really his best film..

I would take Nolan, Aronofsky and even Abrams ahead of Tarantino right now. Sorry but he hasn't made a good movie in 5 years, Grindhouse was a turd. He needs to work his magic in this one or I will consider him overrated from now on.

Its funny Mr. Meowgi is known from being banned and his transformation from a free going hippie to an angry guy hating everything "different"

the reason I mention that is because one thing I remember him for from when I first joined, he would say Pulp is a rip of eighties movie Repo Man. For anyone who's seen Repo, that's not far from the truth.

    Agreed.

Anything RR says about film is now moot.

    81% on RT?

You are definitely in the minority here. Far from a "turd".

The directors you mentioned have never made anything close to as good as Pulp Fiction.

The trunk in repo man had dead alien bodies, the briefcase in Pulp Fiction was whatever you wanted it to be.

That is my point this guy keeps getting praised like some movie god when his best work was made over 15 years ago. This is about what have you done lately to deserve all this attention. His last outing was terrible and not up to par with his previous work.

The 3 guys I mentioned made some of the best movies recently Dark Knight, The Wrestler and Star Trek. All of them have made great movies before (Memento, Pi, Requiem)

What was JJ's great work before? Mission Impossile 3?

brad pitt is easily the worst a-list actor in hollywood. that trailer looked absolutely pathetic.

melanie laurent making her US movie debut is the only reason I will watch this movie. on HBO of course.
