Just saw it. Loved it. Great job by all the actors, but I think Leo could've done a slight bit better. He was still great, but there were some scenes where Waltz was clearly in control of the focus. Enjoyed it for its entertainment value rather than historic.

Yeah it used the N word alot - so did most people back in those times. Don't exactly understand whats the issue there.

No it didn't slow it down and really go in depth as to the true, painful and tortured lives lived by slaves but it did do what Tarantino is best at, short spikes showing extreme pain and torture enough to get the point across. Loved every gun battle and the quick draws.

Overall I'd give it easily a 8.5 or 9/10. Would watch again and own to watch and recommend. Jamie Foxx and Waltz are great.

Really? I thought Leo was phenominal at getting across the subtle menace and danger of Calvin Candie, all while wearing that smarmy smile. Don't get me wrong: Waltz was the star of the show (and rightly so: he's the lead), but I thought Leo more than held his own.

In fact, looking back, other than Tarantino himself, I'm hard pressed to remember ANY acting performance in the movie that wasn't excellent. Heck, even Don Johnson and Jonah Hill were great.

Finally watched it and enjoyed. Jamie Foxx was better than I thought he would be in that he was just good enough to not ruin the movie.

Great movie. I think it's one of Tarantino's best, but I would still put Pulp Fiction over this. Christopher Waltz needs to win the oscar for best supporting actor.

He was great, I didn't mean to come across as harsh, but there's some parts where he underdelivers and comes across as "trying to act" vs. "acting". Slight small parts where his accent will fall out, etc. It's a hard critique to make in an otherwise great role played by him.

Wife and kids were busy this evening. Captain Morgan and I went and enjoyed the hell out of Django. Awesome flick.
