The Sony leaks reveled the bts hysterical clusterf-ck that was trying to get this film made. It ended up at Universal.

The Kutcher one was a 4/10. I imagine Danny Boyle's will be much better, but Steve Jobs just wasn't that interesting of a person - regardless of the fanboys. A movie on Wozniak would be much more entertaining, as he is actually an engaging person that isn't a raging megalomaniac.

Is this the second or third Steve Jobs movie since he died?

The Kutcher one was underwritten and possibly defamed Wozniak; but it's probably the most effort Kutcher has put into anything outside of his sitcom work. Also with the right script Kutcher probably could have earned an Oscar, considering how well Eisenberg, Timberlake and Garfield did with Sorkin.

Separately, Mulroney, Modine and Kevin Dunn all earn their paychecks.

A big-budget reworking of Pirates would be more compelling.

I agree, the acting was far down the list of what was wrong with the movie. I think it was actually cast pretty well, especially Josh Gad as Steve Wozniak.

Sorkin is the best screenwriter in the business when it comes to dialog, and Boyle is a top 6-7 director. If Sorkin does half as well as he did on The Social Network it has a chance.

Fastbender and Rogen may end up being the weakest links in this film. I think they can both act the hell out of it, but it may be hard to suspend belief and imagine that they are Jobs and Woz.

Fassbender doesn't even remotely resemble Jobs. Kutcher and that dude from the first movie from 1999 looked more convincing.

The Pirates of Silicon Valley was awesome, I've watched it a few times over the years.
