Spoiler does the girl die? (when they were shooting the glass on top of her head). the one that took him to Javir Bordem
I liked it alot, but it's weird seeing bond go from relatively young, Casino Royale, to looking really old. Craig ages badly compared to the other bond, especially Bronsnan.
If anything, that fit the film perfectly. This is an aging and slowed Bond struggling to remain relevant in a rapidly changing game.

Spoiler Although themes of aging were discussed in the movie, his appearance in the early stages of the movie were a result of getting over being shot with drugs and alcohol. Great makeup job actually, because he looked a LOT fitter (and younger) at the end of the movie, and he looked like absolute hell after coming in from his sabbatical I grew up on Bond ('cuz I'm like........old and stuff). This one was pretty awesome. The producers of Casino Royale told us before that movie was released that they were going to show a young bond and how he came to be the character we knew from the earlier (Connery/Moore) movies. I think they completed the transition with Skyfall. I expect the next Daniel Craig Bond to be less brooding and more easy going (though still a badass)
Saw it today, it was a good movie but I don't like that it went away from the classic Bond formula. I know all the craig movies have shown this but this one in particular was the most different from the Bond formula. I hope the next Bond is more traditional. Also, I always thought James Bond was a codename, not the real name of the character. That's why there could be so many Bonds, because when one goes away, a new Bond takes his place. I don't like that we find out Bond is his given name.
I'm not sure if they were really reviewing the film or going for a more comedic take but that was a terrible movie review IMO.
*have not seen Skyfall yet How could he come from money? I thought Casino Royale established he was an orphan + his education was paid for by the state (something about not fitting in at school w/all the rich kids, a comment made by Vesper on the train ride to the casino during their 1st meet).
His parents owned a house and the mountains surrounding it. When they died, he inherited the mountains and sold them various companies.
I for one am glad they're breaking convention. The cool-Bond-gizmo crap was over for me with the invisible car 10 years back. Maybe some more a$$ for Bond, sure. This movie is a little more perfunctory in that area. Otherwise, great acting, script, action. What's the problem, dudes?
Yeah I figured you were speaking with that scene in mind from Casino Royale. I just made something up, I don't really know the answer. I've seen Skyfall and I couldn't figure it out
It is but I always thought James bond was it as well. Its how you can have different people be James bond, when one gets old another one takes over. This is how I justified brosnan being bond in one movie and Connery in another. They were both in the same universe. Now I realize that they are not
