geez i hope not, love idris, but don't ever want to see a non white Bond. He would make a good agent though. Just not bond. B. J. B. Dawg.
Moonraker was iconic and your favorite?? I grew up in that era too...but no way is that iconic in the way Goldfinger is/was. Moonraker was a ridiculous caricature of what they allowed Bond to evolve to....kinda like the blue uniforms with the crappy pinstripes and the snarling Rocket at the Summit while the ketchup/mustard dye was still fresh on championship banners. Connery is Bond. Craig does the next best interpretation of that character in my view. Moore looked silly, though I'll say that Live and Let Die is among my top 5 favorite Bond movies.
The next bond should be Liam Neeson. He's a retired operative and his wife and children are taken hostage by the son of a previous villain killed by bond. He gets his 00 status back and travels across Europe and relies on his old skills and gadgets to save his wife and daughter. Tom Hardy for villain.
Our opinions are very similar here. There's some interesting video segments that celebrate the 50 years of bond on CNN right now. Some of it is filler (not to mention the commercials you have to watch), but it's worth checking out: http://www.cnn.com/video/?hpt=hp_c2#/video/showbiz/2012/10/04/natpkg-james-bond-guide.cnn
Love the song. I've never viewed the bond themes as a 'song', but this one has the sound and feel of a bond song as well as a legit track on a normal album. The whole heineken thing in the movie makes me sick. It's one thing to drive around an audi or whatever, or to drink a coke, but when you replace the guys signature with a quote like 'i feel like a heineken' or whatever he's going to say, it just ruins movies for me.
Adele song is nice but, this is my favorite Bond theme: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/qGPBFvDz_HM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I'd watch that. Just to hear Gordon call Bond a "Donkey!" Oh, and for the record, the greatest Bond theme song is: <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/swVoXHVW-jI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> But the Adele song is very good. Especially the way she slipped in the title in a not-at-all-awkward way.
Timothy Dalton is so underrated as Bond. I like both bond movies of his, way better than Brosnan's craps except Golden Eye. Craig is, IMO, a little bit too hard-core as Bond. Other than the cold blood personality, a real James Bond is supposed to be very good with ladies, he just know how to conquer and manipulate women. I just don't see that in Craig.
But remember: before Casino Royale came out, they talked about how they were "rebooting" the franchise and showing how Bond came to be who he was. He didn't even have double-0 status at the beginning of that movie. What the people behind the new movies are trying to do is show us where he came from and how he ended up being the Bond you know from other movies. If all goes well, and Craig keeps making Bond movies, he's supposed to grow into that Bond you expect. And he certainly has the acting chops to do whatever they ask of him.
Why do you say you don't see that in DCraig? Can you explain why/how you don't see that? IIRC it was down to DCraig or Clive Owen for the role, to me I see DCraig as being more of a Bond type ladies man than Clive Owen. I may be wrong though. Plus as mentioned, DCraig's Bond is turning into that. I also agree Dalton was highly underrated as Bond.
What about "For your eyes only"? <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/NrPRGpA1V1o" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
