I've only see Revenant and The Martian. I have free time this next week, I'll catch up on some of those movies. Steve Jobs and Beasts Of Nations are also a good to watch? I've been out the movie scene for a few months.
I would recommend Fury Road if you haven't seen that one. It's incredible, off on its own axis of good crazy. I really thought Carol was excellent -- just saw it. But it might be way too slow and traditional (in structure) for some of you here. On the other hand, ... there is lesbian secks, so maybe it would be more popular here than I'd thought.
I'm sorry but Damon was better. He made that movie. It's a hell of a choice between Inarritu and Miller. I don't see how anyone did a better job of helming a film than George Miller did this year. Just amazing.
What?!?!? Damon is in last place of those 5 for me, not to mention there are a handful of actors I wouldda put in the category over him
Snubs? Well, that's your opinion. And you are entitled to your opinion. By the way, I almost always disagree with many of the nominations every year. Different people like different things. Fargo didn't even win a golden globe award. WTF? But, I take all this with a grain of salt. I don't really watch these award shows very often. But when I do, I feel kinda silly. These people really think highly of themselves. Of the movies nominated for best picture, I've seen The Revenent, and The Martian. I was disappointed in the Revenent, because I thought the story was rather slow and boring. Well made movie, but not as good as I was expecting. The Martian was pretty good, but I didnt think it was a great movie. I enjoyed the book. I'm going to try to see all the nominated films. Spotlight looks good. I also plan to see Beasts of no Nation, as I'm a big fan of Idris Elba.
Will Smith, hahahaha give me a ****ing break.. Leo is overrated and wasn't THAT special in Revenant, I don't know why people feel like he's owed this award, he is a good actor, but he's not at the level where he's ever snubbed of anything. the movie itself was well made and had spectacular cinematography, but dragged on for way too long. I've seen all of the nominations except for Big Short for best pictures, Spotlight gets my nod, it had very little flaws in my personal opinion, everything is just so well done and the pace was done incredibly for a story line that involved around a news team. Ex Machina should have definitely been nominated for more than just one category. I think one thing to mention is the nominations for best cinematography because it's going to be a really tough one to choose given the stacked pool this year. I think this was a good year for movies overall, a lot of pleasant surprises and enjoyable movies in all generes.
pound for pound douchebaggery and politics aside... Daniel Day Lewis Sean Penn Philip Seymour Hoffman Woody Harrelson Javier Bardem
1. Daniel Day Lewis 2. Phillip Seymour Hoffman 3 Christoph Waltz 4. Idris Elba 5. Benedict Cumberbatch I edited the list slightly
Indeed. Buck is crazy -- he must have a high level of Neanderthal DNA if he thinks Rooney looks like a hobbit.
