The only films I ever cried was Michael Bay movies not because they're emotional but they suck and I lose money going to them.

"not sure what u guys thought was so great about it"

    Not sure?

Maybe since I started watching movies back when a hubcap hanging from a string was high tech sci-fi, I have an appreciation of the advance in the technical skills of movie making and can be freaking amazed; whereas somebody whose first experiences were Avatar thinks this stuff is everyday movie making.

It's an adventure film, the idea is to feel like you are in a reality your imagination can't even conjure. Did you question the 'reality' of Indiana Jones?

Go and be a kid, go and be thrilled.

So many iconic and memorable shots in the film...that first scene where she is standing on the arm with Earth below her...I literally felt like I was there. Amazing.

Saw it in 3D. Wish I saw it in 2D. Definitely an IMAX must. I liked it, shot so well, but not up to par with that 98% rating on RT.

Interesting. I thought the 3D was absolutely amazing looking and that's what made the movie for me. Gravity has the best 3D I have ever seen, especially when compared to the trailers of post-production 3D movies before the film (which I will not watch).

Hobbit looked really good in 3D.

I thought it looked dreadful. No way I see that movie in 3D.

Saw the movie last night, and in IMAX 3D, after reading the suggestions here. As far as the IMAX 3D experience goes, I also think it's worth it to see it this way. The 3D was wonderfully done, but what made it great was that it wasn't cheesy or even obtrusive, but rather just enough to make you experience the movie rather than see it.

Also, Sandy's still got a nice bod.

I thought it was amazing. The cinematography just blew me away. I saw it in 3D and don't normally care for 3D versions, but I'd recommend seeing this one in 3D - you almost feel like you're there. The scenes where the debris fields were hitting were truly terrifying, I thought, and the absence of sound just punctuated the desperation of the situation. You've never seen a space flick like this, because one has never been made until now

Two thumbs up from me, well worth the price of admission.

So you HAVE to see it in IMAX for the experience, but you would have rather seen it in 2D? :/

And I saw the IMAX 3D version as well - I don't think seeing it in 2D would have been nearly as satisfying as 3D. 2D just doesn't do the movie justice.

Like other posters have said, the movie is shot well - so well that you'll feel like you're there.

I especially liked the camera going to a first person POV. It really gave the sense that you were the one panicking.

While I think it could have been longer, 90 minutes is a good runtime. Mostly because
they probably couldn't think of any more "impossible" situations for Bullock's character to be in, before she saved herself and crashed to Earth.

Hmm... I liked Prometheus 3D. I'm thinking maybe my glasses were smudgy. But it just didn't look crisp to me at all. I love crisp and clear. This felt blurry. And picture quality snobs and directors like Nolan already have me on the anti-3D bandwagon as-is.

It was as crisp as I've ever seen a 3D movie where I saw it. That was part of what blew me away.

Problem with the glasses or the theater where you saw it? I dunno.

Add me to those that loved the movie. I dragged my son to it - 3D IMAX. It was very immersive, had us very tense throughout.

3D IMAX is the way to see this movie. Great film all around.

Pretty telling that the folks trashing the movie were already on my ignore list. Reinforces my decision to ignore them as correct.

What an incredible experience. It drags you in and places you in a different reality, as if you're in space right with Bullock and Clooney. The plot isn't anything new, but the entire movie is a breathtaking physical journey.

The sex scene between Clooney and Bullock was so forced it just ruined the movie for me.

Pacific Rim was one of the worst movies I have ever seen.
