I am truly in love with Chuy's Creamy Jalapeno Dip. I basically worship the stuff. I can't go pick up a gallon or two of this stuff everyday, sadly. Does anyone know how to get the recipe for this wonderful dip? I tried asking...they said no. I tried e-mailing, they said no. I looked online and I found some, but they're just not "it." Anyone got any ideas as to how I can get it?

    Gracias!

    Whoa.... serious deja vu.

All day yesterday I was singing the praises of this dip ... all my wife's family is in town (nightmare) and we took them to Chuy's up in the Woodlands last night. I kept telling them, "Got to get the creamy jalapeno for the chips". Stuff is magic. Everyone loved the place.

Yes, that is the schit. I also like their red salsa as well. I could sit there and eat those tortilla chips and dips all day at Chuy's.

yeah, i agree with that dip. Other than the dip, the rest of the food/place is just average, IMO.

But i'm a freakin chinaman critiquing a Tex/Mex restaurant, shame on me.

I heard it is like 88% liquid MSG and 0.33% coca leaf along with the rest of the obvious ingredients. ;)

Try this. Pretty dead on after I tinkered with the copycat's recipes.

    20 oz. sour cream

1 packet of Hidden Valley Ranch Dip Mix powder

    1/4 cup cilantro leaves

    3/4 cup pickled jalapeno slices

    1 tomatillo

Take the tomatillo, jalepenos and cilantro and pulvarize in a food processor.

Make the ranch, as usual. Then mix in the other pulvarized ingredients.

    Thank me later...

Thanks, Fatty. Definitely different than ones I've seen online -- uses much more sour cream and I haven't seen the tomatillo in the other ones. I shall try it out this weekend!

There are other mexican places in town, but Chuy's is still pretty damn good. Definitely worth a try.

One location on Westheimer and Kirby, the other in The Woodlands.

My mom makes this dip. We pour it on anything from Tostadas to Tamales to Tacos at every gathering where my mom attends. This is her famous "salsa güera picosa". I will try to see if it is the same as in Jesus's... I mean, CHUY's.

I hear they sprinkle a little crack in it to keep the customers coming back. Not too hard to believe, huh? ;)

All this talk...I may take my family over the original one too to find out what the fuss is...today. :)

Anyone have their fried hatch chili appetizer (when in season)? They are definitely addictive.

That stuff is like crack. I used to frequent the Chuy's on Richmond quite a bit until that area turned ghetto and they closed it down. At least Thai Gourmet is still there.

Me and the wife were planning on eating Tex Mex tonight anyways, I might just have to suggest the Kirby location. How are the ritas at Chuy's?
