    well, i was being a bit tongue in cheek with saying god-fearing.

    I don't think religion came about as having been meant to be driven by fear, but rather to help people deal with fear.

    I am not religious myself, but I still think there is value and lessons...it's not religion itself - or rather the scripture and customs that are flawed in my opinion....it's rather in the interpretation of taking what is suppose to be allegorical or metaphorical and turning it into rigid literal dogma.

    I wonder sometimes if you took religion away would it simply be replaced by something else rather dark and cruel. Is it religion that corrupts the mind, or those who thirst for power that use something meant to bring about enlightenment as a means to play on the weak in order to acheive control and their own means.
