Very nice analysis but unfortunately that pic is NOT photoshopped. I personally saw that guy at Escapade 2001 last weekend wearing those same boots. If you wanna see for yourself, they sell them at the Tia Pancha flea market on Airline by 45.
I could be wrong but the word chuntaro is basically saying wetback...so by this I can tell who is mexican american in this thread.
i've got no reason to think you're lying, so i'll take your word for it, but i still think there's something weird about the pic, even if it's not the boots. I'd say he's one of those that are the exception then, and not the norm. However, i don't frequent spanish clubs, so I maybe it's a new trend I haven't seen? I'd say it depends in what context its being used and by whom...If someone who's not mexican says it, then yeah it may be taken as that, but if they're mexican also, then i'd say it's more like "ghetto".
BS Unless you mean mexican as born in Mexico. If you were born in the US and you say chuntaro its clear that you mean wetback. I seriously doubt anyone from Mexico uses the word chuntaro. If someone says "Hey, its payday, lets go hit a lick on some chuntaros" its clear on what they are saying
Sounds like RV6 might just be suffering from a little "botas de los celos." Don't worry RV6, your boots are almost as cool as the dude in the pic.
I meant that if a white guy says that to anyone that's Mexican, whether it's 100% Mexican or 1%, they'll likely take it as meaning "wetback". If a mexican american says it to another mexican american, then they'll uusally take it as "ghetto". That's basically what i was refering to, but there's a lot more different variations of that depending on the races involved and whether it's meant in a hateful way or not. I understand it's mainly hateful, but there's some that use it as the N word is used among friends, that's not as common or said as frequently, but the point being its not seen as offensive. As for how it's used in Mexico, i won't say i know for sure, since I don't live there and dont visit enough of the country to know something like that with certainty, but I have heard people who live/lived there use it, both here and there.
Actually, i'm just killing some time for than anything. Are you hispanic and that means something that went over my head or is that a bad translation
You, sir, are a fan of great television. That was from one of their early episodes and one of the few that doesn't take place at the junkyard. The part you're talking about starts at 7:25 : <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/PG7wjrzMBn0?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/PG7wjrzMBn0?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
crazy chuntaritos!!! Lol. You can buy those pretty much any mexican flea market. They aren't cheap either! normally they cost you more than 100 bucks! and like the other guy said, those guys who do wear them often get a lot of girls, no matter how ugly and ridiculous they look!
