i LOVE chuck hayes, as a person and a player because of his hustle and incredible tracking of the ball. but lets not get carried away, he is great at that role of offensive rebounding but he's a horrible man on man defender (always leaves his feet and gets in foul trouble) and has no offense. but he fits well here.

He doesn't have to develop a David West-like automatic midrange jumper.

In fact, if he can even shoot the ball at 75% of Udonis Haslem's efficiency, then we have ourselves a real gem.

I don't see much difference between Haslem and Hayes, other than the fact that Haslem has that 15-foot jumper and is slightly more athletic. They're both undersized power forwards that thrive on hustle and get their points off wide open plays created by the superstars in the team. You could almost call Hayes a poor man's Udonis Haslem.

He finishes his layups at a fairly decent level, makes some very difficult ones as well. I don't know know if I can recall chuck taking a jumpshot

He seems to be pretty good at those floaters too right in front of the basket, where he takes like 2-3 steps at the top of the key and then tosses it in. Maybe he needs to teach Rafer a thing or two. Chuck has vastly improved on his finishing this year. I just hope he can just add more to his repetoire of moves in the summer.

    'no dunk' means 'intangible'.

No surprise "that they both ended up together in Houston," since both "did a workout together for the Knicks" - KNICKS(=JVG)!!

Great read. Not to be nitpicking Chuck's game but, he needs to work on his layups also. If I had a dime for every layup he's missed, I'd probably have $3 right about now. He's an awesome person to have on your team though.

no, just come back with more baby hooks and floaters off glass then you'll be fine.

Our last good PF, Otis Thorpe (yeah, yeah I don't count Barkley), didn't have a jump shot. He played good D and could score around the basket. I don't think he will ever develop into a 20-10 PF. I think with lots of work he can be a 15-10 player which would help Yao out a lot. Dunk or no dunk, as long as he can score that's all that matters.

Exactly, if he had Otis Thorpes size, he would put up those 14 and 9 or 10 seasons too.
