Chucky Brown (February 29, 1968) is one of three NBA players to be born on a leap year. I knew there was something special about him. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/dailydime?page=dime-080229 Leap Year Bests By Peter D. Newmann ESPN Research February 29 is a date that only occurs approximately once every four years. Only in a leap year. Although the modern calendar counts a year as 365 days, a complete revolution around the sun takes approximately 365 days and 6 hours. By adding a leap year approximately every fourth year, the difference between the calendar and the seasons can be reduced significantly, and the calendar will align with the seasons much more accurately. Born on Feb. 29: Chucky Brown (1968), John Chaney (1920) Vonteego Cummings (1976 ). On Friday, Feb. 29, 2008, 12 NBA games will be played, including two on ESPN. We will air Jazz at Hornets at 8 ET and Clippers at Nuggets at 10:30 ET. Maybe Allen Iverson joins the list of Feb. 29 greats (see below). Individual Scoring Bests on Feb. 29 Year Player Points 1964 Oscar Robertson, CIN 43 at PHI 1996 Hakeem Olajuwon, HOU 42 vs PHI 1988 Karl Malone, UTAH 41 at SAC 1952 Paul Arizin, PHI 40 vs BAL 1980 Mike Newlin, NJ 40 at DET
not to be picky but since its the whole point of this post - isn't his birthday February 29 (not January 29) -
This sure bring back some very good memories. I will always appreciate the contribution to our 2 championships from Chucky Brown and Charles Jones. Happy Brithday, Chucky!
Chucky Brown?? Who the HELL is Chucky Brown??!! It would take an even greater clutchfan to know that Chucky was the winner of the CBA 1 on 1 contest during their All-Star game prior to joining the Rockets.
What is amazing, is that one of my best friends's baby is born today, only 2 hours ago. His first child, being 16 years old. On February 29. He is the happiest guy on earth right now, he just told me. With all he's went through I'm just so happy for him.
Chuckie is one of my Favorite Players I listened to his interview with Jim Rome and he was so down to earth. He was realistic about his life in the NBA I remember when he talked about being traded from Pheonix and no one told him . . he was lacing them up for a game all the other players were just kind of staring at him they called him into the office. . . He said he got dressed. Got on a plane. Called his girl to pack his ***** and bring it to where ever they traded him He made this golden statement [paraphrased] "Yea, it was kind of *****ty . . but i get paid well to take a bit of *****" That was REAL perspective from an NBAer He just went on with the get on Rocket River Member of the Chuckie Brown Fan Club!
ahh the original chuckwagon. happy birthday. so i think amazingly he's played for more nba teams than he's had birthdays.
It would taken an even greater greater greater clutchfan to know that Chucky wears a size 18 and has children who are now in middle school who he picks up at 3:45 pm every day, and likes to buy 2% milk at the supermarket every other Sunday. That and his favorite position is the lotus flower. Now that is a clutchfan.
