Chuck was never a leaper, but he had the quickest lateral movement for his position in the league. I wonder if he still has that ability.
Could be a good weapon when a team like GSW goes small. He could slow Draymond down when he plays the 5.
Chuck checked Lamarcus Aldridge.... Chuck plays pick and roll defense... Chuck was even a formidable fantasy basketball asset for part of a season... You wish you were Chuck... Chuck is the American Dream.
From what I remember Hayes actually played LaMarcus Aldridge very tough. I'll take him over Dorsey all day cuz he's a more versatile defender.
Spoiler Those wagon wheels are gettin' old. 32 year old Chuck is not the same as 22-23-24-25-26-27 year old [Rockets] Chuck. IF he can still move, this is a great reason to have him around. Pestering the other 4/5's in the West better than what we currently have is enough to have him on the roster for me.
There was a game back in the late 2000s where, if I remember correctly, we were down 2 and Chuck was shooting FTs, he made the first one, then missed the 2nd, we got the rebound and he put up a circus shot for the game winner. Can anyone remember this? It might have also been Kevin Martin, idk. Anyways, good memories of the Chuckwagon. Would happily welcome him back.
I'd be willing to bet Chuck's sole purpose of coming back is to lock up LMA. I believe he always have him fits
Yes please, just to shut down Blake Griffin, which he did with EASE... Like legit shut him out of games unlike anything I have ever seen...
I would be willing to bet that Chuck is probably one of the best character guys in the league. I was hanging out with him one night and all night he was singing karaoke and talking basketball with everyone. You would swear he was just some tall dude hanging out. He wants to come back to Houston. He honestly loved it here. Get him cheap and just have him as a sort of player/coach. He's someone you want your rookies learning on and off the court from.
YESSSSSSSSSSSS! There isn't a player in the league I enjoyed watching more than Hayes. He's lost a step but it's must see TV for me when he's on the court. None of our PF's have any idea how to boxout. Hayes is a surgeon.
Alan Williams will kick Chuck's ass in the training camp and Chuck will get cut eventually. So please don't sign him back to ruin it and let him be a hero in some of our hearts forever.
That dude is destined to be a coach. I knew it when he was 27. Like teammates talk about Battier and say he will run for congress one day.
