They should have just announced Arians was staying and how much they appreciated Pagano's contribution to the franchise. It would have been courageous, not a PR disaster.
It would not have been courageous and it would have been a PR disaster, not to mention there is a very high probability Arians would have turned down the job under those circumstances.
Ahh ok, makes sense, just hope this isnt a let's do it for coach end of season and all the pieces fall in place.
Flak? Yes, but it would not have been a "PR disaster". You really have no idea what Arians would have done. Their blunder was making the easy decision, not the courageous one. That wasn't their only mistake. The Colts organization is a stinky mess that needs a housecleaning. I like that as a Texans fan but hate it for Andrew Luck.
