Huh? Where is your proof? All you have said was,"I happen to know a person..."

Hearsay is not proof. Neither of you have proof, though popular opinion is on his side.

I met that guy once @ Live. He bought me a drink. I'd take a drink from that guy anytime even if it was on fire. That guy knows how to pick up the chicks at the bar after he beats up dudes in movies.

I think everyone knows that Lee actually kicked Bolo's ass in real life? Lee got his ass kicked alot in China, but that was when he was younger. The Lee we think of was quite the scrapper.

I recall a documentary which stated that Lee would constantly be challenged in the street by total strangers because the local paper had put the challenge out there. One poor soul actually thought it wise to climb the fence into Lee's backyard, needless to say it didn't end well for him...

Anyone see Bruce Lee's one inch punch? Amazing.....for a guy his size, he hits as hard or harder than someone 3x larger.

While I see your point and I really could care less if anyone believes me, the person I speak of has called Chuck on the phone and I have talked to him. He also has multiple pics from the older days in California of he, Chuck, and Lee. I have also spoken with some of his fellow sparing mates and they said the same things. They said that Lee was not nearly as impressive as his legend.

I was merely trying to shed some light to the over-hype machine that hollywood tends to create about actors and their movies.

I never said that Lee was not talented or a decent fighter. The original question was Chuck vs Lee and outside of the movies, Chuck apparently won as well as many other fighters in a standard ring competition.

I have seen the documentary on Lee about his street fighting days and if that is really true then that is impressive in its own right.

this is the first time in my life i've heard the ridiculous idea that chuck norris has or could beat lee. he has absolutely zero advantages. bruce is faster, stronger, and more skilled. there is bounds more anecdotal evidence that bruce was not only impressive in real life but even MORE impressive than what his movies show. this is documented by students and other athletes.

your comment that he was very weak goes completely against everything we know about him. he was pound for pound one of the strongest and most impressive athletes in the world. his body was fine-tuned for punching and kicking power, just watch any video of him.

i don't know if he was the best ever of even of his time but the idea that he was some light-weight in karate circles is just flat-out wrong.

I don't know who beats who in real life but about 10 years ago I'd heard of this kind of thing from a 12 years old kid who trained in karate. What happen was that I told him I thought bruce lee were amazing and then he told me chuck beat bruce in an real one on one fight. May be there is some true in this kind of rumor!

I would have to agree that Lee is seriously overhyped. There is no evidence of him having ever fought anyone other than street thugs in Hong Kong. Obviously he got a lot of respect and admiration from known fighters like Chuck Norris, so you have to give him some leeway since they ARE experts and we aren't. But I think the 'he was the greatest and invincible' stuff is a little silly considering he never fought anyone. By many accounts he avoided matches with other martial artists at the time and he also was about 135 soaking wet.

    Loved his movies though.

Bruce Lee also got Sammo Hong started. He is the guy getting his ass kicked at the begining of Enter the Dragon.

In regard to Bruce Lee's fighting ability its probably true he isn't as good as he is in his movies but then again who is. I recall reading an interview by Sammo Hong that during the filming of Enter the Dragon he actually spared with Bruce Lee to see how good he was and according to Sammo Hong he was very good.

As for whether Chuck Norris could kick Bruce Lee's ass I would say in a point sparring or K1 fight Bruce Lee would probably win in a UFC style fight probably Chuck Norris. Prior to entering Karate Chuck Norris was a Judo champ and his ground skills are probably better.
