Just thought this thread cold use a bump. Hayes has been awesome since Landry's incident. He just always makes an impact when he's out there. He sets solid screens, he's a pretty good passer, great defender, and an excellent rebounder.

I enjoy watching him play. I'm glad he's been able to stick.

I never expected for him to be such an excellent passer. He's especially effective at passing the ball when he's at the top of the post and a teammate flashes to the paint.

Let's not forget that he can also run the break!

I think the most underappreciated aspect of Chuck's game is how he passes the ball out quickly when he gets a rebound. He'll typically throw a good outlet pass off a defensive board, or a good pass to a 3-point shooter off an offensive board. When he gets the rebound, he keep the ball up high with two hands, and fires it to a teammate in one, fluid motion better than any of our other bigs.

He's thrown a couple nice football passes the last few weeks as well.

Yeh hes a great outlet passer. He has really quick hands and he just rifles it out. Its usually pretty accurate too.

Has Hayes always been this good at defending players in the perimeter? I know he's always been excellent at shutting down post players and he's subbed in for Yao in pick-and-roll situations at the end of games. But I can't remember him being so good at defending guards during the JVG era.

Over the years, he seems to be becoming a more well-rounded defensive specialist.

I have the opposite impression. I think he's improved as post defender, and has possibly lost a step defending on the perimeter.

His perimeter D really stuck out to me in the Spurs game a few games ago. He had to guard Tony Parker on the perimeter for 3 straight possessions and Parker couldn't get past him. Of course Parker ended up making a jumper on each possession but it was still good defense by Chuck.

I'm glad to have chuck on the team.

seriously, this guy seems to have no ego and is playing his role greatly

Hayes is garbage. I know this because in the Hangout a poster thinks he could beat him 1-on-1. If Hayes can't beat a loser off the street, how can he be any good?

hayes may be a garbage if we plays on suns or warriors, or any other such kind of team that doesn't play any defense.

Artest has to be the primary backup for Luis,Battier can only get spot minutes there on offense. Chuck can continue to help out on defense.
