I think the Lowry & Dorsey combo would give the other team a rude awakening...Dorsey is the forgotten pit bull. Anyway our D will improve with Chuck in the lineup.
Adelman confirmed Chuck will start. Chuck says primary focus will be on denying Gasol the ball and sticking with Gasol even when Kobe, guards have ball. Adelman said team will definitely look to push pace without Yao — placing priority on starting the offensive sets earlier in the shot clock.
ha, i agree if it is not fined by the league, Dorsey shoulf be activated this game, no C is a great trouble for adelman, maybe he will let Chuck in the court, actually he also has some aggressive action , that is what i want to watch.
its sooo funny when cook comes in...i know he is a better shooter than he acts...every time he comes in for garbage minutes, he shoots up a brick and its hilarious every timel lol
Chuck Hayes is the best defender when he isn't being called for tacky fouls which most other players get away. It's the refs that limit his defense.
Figured some of you would be interested in this... some random writer () focused on Chuck today. Great game from him. http://blogs.houstonpress.com/hairballs/2009/05/no_yao_no_t-mac_no_problem_hay.php
Ben don't expose yourself!! I figured it was you after you started the thread just after you tweeted the same comment.
I congratulate myself and others who called for Chuck Hayes to play way more in this series than he did in Games 1/2.
My starting lineup in the other thread was Scola, Landry, Battier, Artest, and Lowry. Clearly, Adelman has forgotten more basketball then I'll ever know.
Chuck Hayes is not just a great post defender either. He's also excellent for a "big man" on the perimeter and at help defense. I think there was a play today where Chuck switched onto Kobe at the end of a quarter and cut off his drive. Kobe had to pick up his dribble and pass out to someone for a bad jump shot. And don't forget that play where he drew a charge on Brandon Roy to save the game while keeping an eye on LaMarcus Aldridge. Everyone thinks they can post Chuck or drive on Chuck, but he makes it difficult. They should really just shoot over him, but nobody seems to have learned that yet.
Neither does Von. I wouldn't cann it funny. I really don't see a better one on one defender in the NBA. Hayes is sure in top 5. You just can't move him.
It took a while for Phil Jackson to adjust to Hayes being on the court, but we saw him do it toward the end of the game on Sunday. For game 5 we need to plan on the Lakers using Chuck Hayes defender as a roaming defender because he will not be coverering Chuck Hayes at all. JVG mentioned this towards the end of game 4 as the one way to exploit Hayes's game. Adelman needs to find ways to counter this because the 4 Rocket scorers that will be on the court are going to have a hard time finding open baskets when this happens.
nice first post.. u may want to take into account the fact that yao is out for the remainder of the playoffs
yeah... i think we're in trouble once Pau Gasol plays Chuck face up instead of backing him up does brian cook warrant some playing time? is dorsey ineligible to play in the play-offs? we just need his body and fouls... he has no offensive game... but that's not much different than hayes
