are you talking about leaners? cause 2k9 is suppose to have them too. i don't even know how to respond to your 2nd claim. the shot stick basically controls the same as if you were to use the face button. as in you release it at the height of your jumper, something live finally added this year. getting into a rhythm is not realistic at all . also, how are you gonna call it cheap when live has go to moves that are more or less guaranteed to go in.
NBA LIVE 09 demo comes out on PSN Thursday, so I will see for myself. But NBA 2K8 pwned NBA LIVE 08 with the exception of the 5 on 5 online team play, which is now gonna be in 2k9 and will have the ability to rate other players so people can know if you have a ballhog on your team
The 2k series knows what it wants to be: a realistic simulation of NBA basketball. It gets a lot of things right and some things wrong, but the developers know what their core gamers want. Some people hate it and I can't blame them at all, but it's good at what it wants to be. The live series is stuck between realism and NBA Jam. It straddles the line, does neither one particularly well, and has lacked a lot of polish recently. It really shouldn't appeal to anyone except arcade-style fans who can't remember NBA Jam. NBA Jam wasn't realistic or deep, but it was fun. Live just doesn't get it.
I find it funny how they start the review with Chuck Hayes. LOL. Do fans of other teams even know who he is? As for Live vs 2K. I'm going to download the demo when it's released and see how good the new version of Live is. 2K8 kicked it's ass, but I hear Live has made BIG strides.
That's why they made the NBA Street series, to focus on the fun factor. Since EA already has that, Live should focus on simulation basketball.
whats your point? so its not the y button anymore in live 09...... its obviously another button which you were to busy trashing the game instead of figuring it out...... nice work
haha for real... I've always liked the 2k series better than live ever since the dreamcast. the last live game I owned was 06 and every game I played I scored like 160 everytime.. When live 07 and 2k7 came out for next gen I read the reviews and decided to go with 2k7 and I'm glad I did. 2k series is way more realistic but its all about opinions, some people like arcade games still I guess. Can't wait for 2k9 now
No no no... NBA Live = still alive because of loyalists who can't let go of the past NBA 2K = the better basketball game that EA tried to buyout...as if stealing one of the lead developers wasn't enough
I know some of you guys really get into this EA-2K competition, but I don't think EA's attempted buyout of Take Two had much to do with the NBA 2K series, although I'm sure it would have been a nice bonus (along with a horde of other IPs).
Maybe someone already answered but a quick search yielded me these results - http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?Product_ID=72356 http://www.gamespot.com/pc/sports/nba2k9/index.html Looks like it's true!
Someone said a few posts earlier that those that play Live are simply loyalists who can't let go of the past. QFT!! I played Live up until 2k8 came out and I will never look at a NBA Live game again. 2k8 > than any Live game. 2k9 will be the best basketball game in history... if you are getting Live, well good for you, you get to play a loser game. Do yourself a favor, get 2k9.
I can't wait to get 2k9 either.. I mostly play 2k8 most of the time on my xbox 360. Once and a while i put in Grand Theft Auto IV. But NBA 2k8 keeps me entertained for hours. but all time best classic nba game was NBA LIVE 95 back then when 2k sports wasn't even a glimmer in EA Live's eyes.
