ugh i dont think you know the depths of the shot stick, depending on the direction you direct it towards it will have a different type of layup/dunk like strong, power, flashy etc, instead of what live does, which is waste 2 face buttons for dunk and lay up. p.s nba live doesn't even have hop steps in their game
Thank goodness for that. I loved ESPN NFL 2K5 and was crushed when EA bought the rights to NFL games. If EA did the same for the NBA I would be devastated. NBA 2K series is the best basketball sim ever. It's what's been keeping me up to date with basketball, and how I know practically every player on every team like the back of my hand. Plus, this guy Rashidi will post his player ratings on gamefaqs and I'll usually end up spending more time editing ratings than playing the game itself haha. Very rarely do I question his ratings. They're usually spot on. From now on I always think of an NBA player by Rashidi's overall rating for that player. i.e., Out of the box, Luis Scola's overall was 72, but after Rashidi ratings, it was up to 80, which I think is about right. http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/xbox360/file/nba_2k8_player_edit.txt
Exactly, 2K has so much possibility and control in the types of shots you can do. Like I said, it makes it much more immersive.......
Nice I just hope they improve the sound of the crowd, in 2k7-2k8 the sound sucked! They need to make that more realistic (getting loud at the end of a close game instead of just after a basket is made), and how about a Red Rowdies section for the Rockets?
HEY PAL...... NBA LIVE 08 DOES HAVE A HOP STEP.... its called the y button.... why make a random completely wrong comment like that? and btw... its a proven fact that NBA live is a more fluid gameplay. 2k may be more realistic..... but NBA live is easily more fluid
Why is it that in every single sports game, they fail to get Yao's face done correctly? And what is up with his hair?
I'd beg to differ, NBA Live is faster and runs more like the NBA Jam's of the 90's, but as of fluidity, I don't think so. Passing isn't always intuitive, dunks don't make sense at times (I mean how can someone consistently dunk from the free throw line?) and sometimes the ball plain and simply moves in ways it physically can't. I own both NBA Live 08 and 2k8. I first bought live, cried for hours on end, then went out and bought 2k8. I suppose I could have sold live back, but eh.
color me intrigued now... so, would you use the second analog stick or something like that? or go all out and get a Wii?
NBA Live is faster, but it has some framerate issues and the ball has no spin when it is being shot or dunked. It's motionless. And yes, its not fluid at all. The only reason why NBA Live 09 is being hyped up so much is because of ESPN 360. Which, is stupid because the main reason this game should be hyped is because it has good gameplay, and so far, I'm not seeing that.
actually, on Live 09, your shot does matter on which direction you push with the shoot button. Plus, why have a shot stick? I rather be able to control my players the way I want to control my players instead of having the AI decide which direction my guy is suppose to spin. When it comes to sports games, I want to be in control, not how the AI controls my players. Shot stick is cheap as you can sit there and get in a rhythm and never miss a shot from outside.
you will this year, NBA Live 365 is a new feature that keeps all the stats as real as they can get, www.nbalive.com
2k series = NBA brand of basketball Live series = NBDL/And1 brand of basketball Not even close......no need to argue if you've played both series.
NBA Live= first basketball game ever made NBA 2K= is for kids that never experienced playing an Atari, or Nintendo, or Sega
correct, NBA Live took the hopstep button out, but you can still do the hopstep with players who actually use the hopstep. Hop step is now embedded in go-to- moves for players like Gasol, Deng, act. act. so you are right, but wrong at the same time
Not so much that EA owns the market as 2K just doesn't bother to support the PC (or even handhelds for that matter). Probably not a bad decision on 2K's part though. Kind of a shrinking market. I think EA was considering closing down their PC teams, or maybe they even did so (might have just been for some games though, but I thought Madden was involved).
