NBA games, regardless of 2k or Live, always get dissed by critics. I always wonder why.

2k9 looks amazing, so far! I can't to get it!

Guess what..... EA is going to prove you wrong.... all the problems with every player being a "superstar" has been fixed if you played the demo. EA sports has gone above and beyond with this one guys....

oh and if anyone plays NBA live 08 or is planning to get NBA live 09 my gamertag is MVP SickVick and I play that game daily....... 1 question.... does NBA 2k8 have team play?

I'm not going to argue with you but i have played the demo and they have improved alot, i am just saying from a strategical standpoint 2k9 is better. has better fluid movement as well

it comes down to one of two things, either the shot functionality isn't real enough (i.e. NBA Live 08, where you press a button and regardless of hold time it will give you an identical shot, percentage, etc.) or the franchise and GM modes aren't real (i.e. NBA 08 for the PS3). It comes down to realistic gameplay or realistic features. Heck, I noticed with NBA Live 08 the trades and team interactions weren't as realistic as those of NBA 2k8. Above all, I love the 2k series and I am deeply depressed EA bought them out. I mean come on, look what EA did to Bond after Goldeneye. Goldeneye was a the precursor to Halo, and yet everything EA threw out in that series was crap. Who knows, maybe EA can do something right? I mean, they didn't eff up the Fifa games, those are just amazing.

They need to get a shotstick, that makes the game much more intuitive and realistic.....

I don't think you're being serious, but in case you are I don't think a shot stick is necessary, look at how NBA 08 does it (above). It's pretty awesome.
if they can combine the functionality of NBA 08 (PS3) with NBA 2k8 you could have a damn good game. Obviously I'm inferring copyrights be damned.

Good news: EA ended talks with Take Two. Take Two isn't being bought out.
Also the new Bond game is being made by Activision and will run on the CoD4 engine.
Bad news: Take Two shares went down after talks ended.

I think it is totally neccesary, Pushing a button down feels so "Last Gen" for me. I mean look at Tiger Woods Golf...... That series took off when they decided to get rid of the meter and button click.

Plus you have the freedom to do left and right hand lay-ups depending on what side of the shotstick you pull.
