I was at the game and I felt like we were only 80-85% full... Quite a few open seats around us for the entire game.

Oh yea, I two rows immediately behind Yao's Dad! That was pretty cool, I went up to him before the game and told him Ni Hao :)

it was technically a sellout tho

what that means of course is that the corporate people who own those seats just didnt bother to showup.

Im busily working my few corporate contacts to try to scam a few good seats this year...problem is, if the Rockets do as well as I expect them to(you saw a taste of what that can be tonight), those corp seats will be full.

if any of you Rowdies ever find yourself not being able to go....give me a holla...Id love love love to stand and scream with people like me. :)

Man, you could really hear the Rowdies! FANtastic job, people! What a game! I'm going to watch it again, later. GREAT CROWD!

(and what's with the empty lower bowl seats... if the idiots won't show, they should usher the Rowdies down there! )

My friend went to Yao's Restaurant for opening night against Utah and won two center court, 3rd row tickets from 790AM. He gave them to me and I was screaming my lungs out down there. There were a few other loud fans near me so it wasn't bad, but 70% of the people were pretty quiet. Especially the ones on the hardwood.
It was a great game though. Very loud. It was my first game this year so my first chance to see the Rocket Rowdies. I think they did a good job pumping up the crowd. The Amina thing had me cracking up :D

Anyone know if there is a copy of this online anywhere?? I would love to hear what he said.

I was so excited Chuck got the call to start... played pretty good defense as well... now if we can just get him to stop fouling! :D

Yup! It was like a Playoff atmosphere.. Crowd was really LOUD on more than several different occasions. And I'm usually conservative with giving that kind of credit. TC was LOUD!! Definitely alot of fun :D

I was in Sec. 418 with Mig, and I can say, the first qtr was like playoff atmosphere. My throat hurts from all the screaming and even my arm hurts from all the arm pumping after every play. It was ridicoulous, even when Bonzi came in for the first time, the place got LOUD.

All I can say is that damn, I hope this lasts the whole season, i even told Mig, "damn i got 40 more of these games to go" :)

haha awesome. i was in section 415 with yobod. Last night was RIDICULOUS. I dont know how much it helped, but everytime Jason Terry or Dirk touched the ball, everyone on my row went nuts saying they sucked, and low and behold, they sure stunk! (well...dirk still dropped 20+) This game has to be one of the best I've ever been to, and man I plan on getting more tickets this season in hopes of bringing that fan intensity whenever possible.

Please please please go to games if you can and bring this intensity every night. Especially when the players feel the intensity and pressure from the fans.

My wife and I sat next to you and Yobod last night...what's up fellas? That was a great game and I'm still pumped this morning! We need to keep that kind of intensity regardless of the opponent and keep the team pumped up throughout the season. Can't wait until the Spurs come to town on the 14th baby!

The Rocks need to not have a let down tonight on the B2B and take care of business against a young and hungry team looking to make a statement against us! Let's go 2-1 tonight baby!

I was at the game in section 124 and I must say that the fans were very loud last night. The Rowdies were great, I could hear them chanting in unison across the stadium. I tried to chant along with them when possible but most of the people around me were lame and did not catch on.

As far as being asked to sit down, I have seen this before. And must say that is the lamest thing I have ever heard of. I was standing up screaming and cheering at all different times in the game. I can't say how I would react if someone asked me to sit down.

It was the same thing that Yao Ming did in his rookie season, teaching the Rockets fans to say defense in Chinese (Putonghua !!) Fang Shou !!!

You know it was a hell of a game, when you can barely even talk the next day, my throat is still raw. I'm not going again until 12-2 against the LeBrons, I can't wait. The upper level is so uch more lively and fun up there, especially around sec 416, the section next to me was damn near as loud as the Rowdies. Wer'e also forgetgting that now we are going to have more Rowdies with the one's TMac bought. I think Yao should follow suit and we could have the whole north end lower level, nothing but a Rowdies area, that would be badass.

That's really good to hear, but I am definitely surprised. I saw the game in HD here in Dallas and I the only time I actually heard the crowd was when Bonzi was checking in. Everyone around me was even saying that they were expecting a more excited crowd being the first home game of the season. And that's exactly their excuse for the Mavs playing so terrible; they felt the atmosphere was just like a high school game

But Im glad it was nothing like I thought it was :D

    I was in section 432.

    Crowd was awesome!!!

Props to the Rowdies. I loved that you guys lined up at the entrance yelling and high-fiving everyone coming in the doors. Of course, that was after y'all made the rounds driving by screaming around the arena. But, that didn't slow you down. Than, y'all circled the inside of the arena chanting all the way down to y'all's seats.

I too wish there were another section on the other side. Would really make that much more an impact.

The "AMINA" chant was hilarious!!! What was almost as funny was Deke saying it on the jumbotron. The whole crowd cracked up.

I heard the caller on 610 afterwards as well about how they asked the Rowdies to calm it down. Horrible.

There plenty of open seats in the lower bowl and the crowd (especially down there as well) was late getting back to their seats at the start of the second. I didn't like how early a ton of people left in the 4th.

I mean, we're kicking the crap out of the reigning Western Conference champions, an in-state rival, and people are just walking out instead of letting Dallas have it and/or giving the Rockets some real props at the end of the game.

Anyway, I've got the weekend mini-plan so I'm looking forward to more of these crowds the rest of the season. I'll be there Friday vs. the Knicks.

Again, MAJOR props to the Rowdies and the rest of the crowd last night and let's keep it going!!!

Thanks everybody for all the support. I know I'll look back on this time 20 years from now as probably the most fun I've ever had. It is freaking badass!

A couple of my personal observations:

The lineup outside was GREAT. People LOVED giving us all high-fives coming in. Probably only 1 in 10 people gave us dirty or blank looks. Most everybody seemed to really enjoy themselves. My favorite was the older lady, probably like 70, danced all the way up the line giving us all high-fives. When she got to the door, she stopped and continued dancing! I was hysterical.

Also, giving all the Mavs fans crap at EVERY point was sweet. At the end of the game, we stood around outside giving more high fives and tormenting more Mavs fans. That is when I lost my voice. :)

Regarding being asked to sit down, some fan about 10 rows behind us came down to our group and screamed and yelled at us. He said we are setting an F-ing precident for the rest of the season if we sit down now. Don't F-ing sit! Stand the F up! That was so awsome! We were told to only stand during big plays. Well, for us, ANYTHING is a big play. A blocked shot, a 3pointer...whatever. So we starting sitting a little but stood up CONSTANTLY. So I don't feel too bad about it. And yes, our Rockets representative will be there next time and he'll straighten out the asses that told us to sit.

It's great to hear all your feedback. I'm pumped! I'm glad to know that folks in the upperdeck or on the other side can still feel us.

Chuck Hayes is absolutely right! I mean, holy crap, the sounded like Miami Heat fans in the FINALS !!!.. I think that was the biggest factor that resulted in the huge win !! I hope they stay like that for the rest of the year.. if the atmosphere stays like that, I think it's worth it to buy some good tickets (even though I promised myself that I wont buy rockets tickets after we lost against the CHARLOTTE BOBCATS in 04-05 and the fans were more interested in their hotdogs than the game, I mean, Why the heck would u play cards in the middle of an NBA game ??)
