Yes, thank goodness it's not Yao, but have you watch any of the rocket's game this year? We are weak at the PF, and Chuck is the key player there and a true starter. We lost a starter.. ok ? !!

I am glad Chuck will not be out too long. I hope this will free up minutes for Novak. I hope Howard can give some good minutes while he is in the games.

Who knows what JVG will do. Maybe he'll bring Bonzi on the active list and maybe not...

He's going to have to go with Juwon tomorrow for rebounding purposes because he does rebound better than Battier at the 4 spot. Shane does not crash the boards like Juwon and Juwon does not crash like Hayes so we have a definite drop off there but the good news is our gaurds (Mac & Alston are both good rebounders).

Hopefully Novak will crack the lineup as a reserve and Snyder's minutes will likely increase beyond his current 20 per night...

Oh son of a b****! That sucks!

Man, this reminds me of when Howard went down in 04-05... (He was actually a fairly valuable member of our team at that point, haha).

We had basically no back-up PF to replace him with... And it led to a mini losing streak before we got things together... and then I think we actually went on a big winning streak without him ever returning to the lineup.

Jeez, this guy was REALLY starting to grow on me. He was looking like he might actually be a great solution for our huge PF problem.

Hopefully the Rockets can adjust quickly. We still have a crapload of talent... just a gigantic gaping hole and power forward...

I think many people believed that if we had Juwan Howard in the playoffs against Dallas we would've won the series. I think we have all the pieces, but once one of them is missing, you miss the whole picture. Hayes is such a team player, you couldn't ask for more. And as for Howard's decline, he's still the consummate professional. I think if he get the opportunity in the starting lineup he'll bring enough energy to keep up his duties. And I only say this because he'll have to do it for a short time period.

Last year was such an injury nightmare that for some reason 2 weeks does not sound that tragic anymore. Pray for everyone else to stay healthy!

Yao has much better hands than Hayes does. In the presason, VSpan made some sick passes to him in the post and Hayes couldn't handle them, while Yao could

why not use battier against duncan tomorrow. stick mcgrady on bowen. use head/snyder on manu. its not like duncan is a monster of a power forward, so i think battier will match up at least OK on duncan. itll also force duncan to guard the perimeter on battier, which opens up the lane for yao and allows mcgrady to cut to the basket.

the thing is, duncan IS a monster of a PF and will probably score on battier a LOT. but yeah, battier will draw duncan out of the paint, and we'll be able to score a lot easier without their big man waiting to swat our shots
