Charles Hayes: To Miss up to Two Weeks

    Monday, November 13, 2006 - Will Brinson

Update: ESPN.com is reporting that Hayes will miss up to two weeks after bruising and hyperextending his left knee when he ran into Shaquille O'Neal on Sunday night.

Analysis: Colliding with Shaq and only two weeks? Color Hayes lucky. Hayes was actually averaging over six boards a game, so his loss will be felt, and expect Juwan Howard to step up in his absence.

LOL such fools over there, anyway we gone miss chucks hustle and defense like so many of yall already stated. Anyway move shane to pf for two weeks

Not too good news, since he's needed, but at least it's only two weeks. The team might suffer in the meantime though.

Man, we need him back soon....he cuts to the basket llike no other....he hustles, dives all over the place....That is something JHO can't do...but JHO can hit the occasional jumper from 14-16 ft that should help us spread the floor in the half court set....I think we will miss him but we can handle it for 2 weeks....Thank goodness its not longer as expected....

In the mean time, we can get another Chuck on our roster. Now is time to strike a deal with Chucky Brown and bring him out of retirement.

Don't ever underestimate the heart of Chucky Brown. He got game....I meant ring :)

O'Neal to undergo surgery and miss 4-6 weeks
    November 17, 2006

MIAMI (AP) -- Shaquille O'Neal will undergo knee surgery and be sidelined for four to six weeks, the Miami Heat said Friday.

O'Neal tore cartilage in his left knee Sunday when he collided with Houston's Chuck Hayes. The injury was originally diagnosed as a hyperextended knee.

Did anyone listen to 610am today afternoon. Jonathan Feigen was on, but I missed some of it. He was talking about how Chuck Hayes is a big surprise for the team, and how the coaches and even opposing scouts are just raving about him. One scout told him that he considers Chuck to be one of the top defensive PFs in the league. Not bad for a second year undrafted player who was in the NBDL a year ago.

I haven't read the thread, but that is great what they are saying about Chuck. My personal opinion of him has changed this year. Last season, I thought he was smart, but had a problem getting his put-backs blocked in heavy traffic under the basket. This year, I saw it against New Orleans, but other than that he has been incredible in that department. As long as he knows his height, is clever about his under-the-basket scoring, and kicks it out when appropriate, he is going to be a great player for us.

You have to wonder why Shaq stayed in the game... torn cartilage? Sounds painful. Maybe his ego wouldn't let him be benched... he HAD to get at least one dunk in on Yao.

How Shaq get hurt when collision, he was stand on his feet and Hayes fall down badly.

If Shaq get hurt why he still play?

    Excuses being dominated?

Man I hope this injury doesn't affect his game in any way such as slow him down or anything.
